Hahaha, it's sad that people will believe that, because at this point you wouldn't really be able to put it past Microsoft to do it.

Lol no way. If anything maybe thats in reference to the cable tv integration. Thats the only thing that MIGHT be about.

But even then reading the rest of the article, its very Onion troll like.

“If you live in one of the states that unfortunately will not receive Xbox One support at launch, here are a few suggestions on what you can do,” said the representative, “You can relocate to a state that has Xbox One support, you can purchase an Xbox 360 which has no location restrictions, or you can wait patiently until support arrives at your state by 2015 or later.”
          No chance this is real.

I guess that will be one of the "participating retailers" for Xbox One used games.

                    Re: Xbox One

Just got back from Gamestop and pre-ordered an Xbox One. Thought a lot about it over the week and made my decision while I was playing Halo 4. The Halo series is why I switched over to the Xbox from the PS2 when I was a kid. At the end of the day, I know when Halo 5 drops in 2014, that I will regret not having a Xbox One. Plus, the used games and check in every 24 hours really doesn't bother me.

                    Also pre-ordered Battlefield 4!

Hopefully they will have the same deals as regular Microsoft stores, I got a bunch of $10 games from them last Thanksgiving.

This. There have been a lot of good things stated. Overall though I come to this thread to talk about the cool features that I'm excited about. What ends up happening though is a lot of speculation being tossed around and a majority of it is negative.

What I'm excited for is what Microsoft can do with Kinect integrated into every system. One thing I know about Microsoft is the Xbox One won't be the same console in seven years. They'll be constantly updating it and improving it. Hearing about the things they can do with cloud computing is also very exciting. Understanding that cloud computing can handle any process that doesn't need to be computed in under 100ms is huge. That means if Microsoft could release and exclusive that just has so much going on server side while the One just takes care of the graphics and player movements.

Honestly though, I wish we could have a separate thread for Microsoft and all of the DRM happenings.

Early data for console pre-orders from major online retailers in the United States show consumers pre-ordered approximately three PS4 units for every two Xbox One consoles during the period between Monday June 10 to Wednesday June 12. While this is not an indication of future purchase intent, it does seem to suggest that Sony resonated louder with consumers during E3 2013 than Microsoft.

IGN users were unquestionably swayed by Sony’s messaging during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. We asked our readers who they thought was “winning E3” during the show. Over 280,000 of you responded, and Sony took the top spot with 81% of the votes. Microsoft garnered 12% and Nintendo grabbed the remaining 7%.

While Sony seems to have the advantage in the pre-order race at this point, Microsoft Games Studio VP Phil Spencer did respond to the recent consumer concerns over mandatory connectivity checks and the seemingly unfriendly approach towards used games and lending by saying, “this isn't a sprint. The platform launches this November; we've got more content to share."

See the big problem with this is that with there being people that still defend all of this and don't care about it. Well it hurts everyone. If more people stood up and took a stance maybe Microsoft would change their mind, but with responses like this it ruins it for everyone. If there isn't enough complaining there isn't enough changing. Simple as that. Xbox One would be a great console if it wasn't for all these restrictions. But the fact remains there is all of these restrictions and with responses like yours it just justifies what Microsoft is doing. Do you really want what Microsoft is doing to be the future of gaming? Really give it a lot of thought and think about it.

And another thing that cloud allows us to do, is play games online even if they are super old. Remember how some companies close out the serve of an old game, well now we can forget about that because Microsoft is holding the servers and taking the pressure out of the companies to keep it alive.

And Hobbs, i don't have a problem with the DRM, a lot of good things can come out of it. The only problem that i have, and to me is not that big of a deal, but it is for the people who live outside the U.S and those who's connection goes out, is the 24 hours thing. Something that i'm pretty sure microsoft will revise and change.
