MS will make up the gap in sales overtime. PS4 is a 360 with better graphics. Xbox will expose their archaic console.

It's one solution. There are others. I mean, you have digital downloads now. What's preventing these people from installing those games on multiple consoles?
And again, do you see Steam requiring check ins?
And why should any of this force people to be connected? Unconnected people arent going to do it anyway.

How many people can play my steam games? How many steam games have you traded in or sold to another retailer? How many used games have you given away to someone else?

So instead of checking in your suggestion is that the installs are tracked? So just online activation? So now you're proposing the "you only get so many installs before you cant anymore" solution then? If not then how do you ensure a game is unplayable on previous installs? Ensure that forums dont pop up to trade credentials to game share like people did on PS3 last gen?

What are the others?

Why not ship the disc with an install code?

Why not allow for offline play with the disc?

It would have saved everyone more time if you had just posted this first rather than suggest there are other ways to do it. we know the features of the console, your suggestion is they abandon their vision and those features, rather than offer a better way to do it, which is what it sounded like you were suggesting initially.

How do you propose they manage game ownership without the routine online check? Used games, discless playback, playing from any Xbox One, family share from another Xbox?

And frankly, that's a really crappy reason. Did you just completely miss everything I suggested?

How are they managing used games now? It is regulated to an extent.

How are they regulating digital downloads now? What's stopping people from downloading on multiple consoles?

The family share can only be done with 10 people anyway. It's already regulated.

Why alienate so many people with terrible policies?

I am speaking in generals for those who have the gall to defend these draconian practices, and not realize their policies are creating the problem, that provides even worse solutions for the end user.

And to answer your question. We are the consumers. We speak with our money. We are not here to brainstorm solutions for the issues they are creating. They don't pay me for that. However, if they notice our displeasure of the situation, perhaps they will rethink their agenda.

Yes, anyone who doesn't completly go against Microsoft's vision is a fanboy and is contributing to the downfall of gaming.
