Those are the three main reasons (or at least some combination of them.) Those with PSPlus now also can cite that as a reason because the free games they get with PSPlus are fairly new games that give amazing value to that service.
    Yeah, this is about it.

I'm on the fence because I actually like the Kinect and entertainment/tv features.

I am turned off by how MS handled everything.

This is why I'm waiting a while to decide.

Above everything else, like uber mentioned, was the way they treated their customers.

I have plenty of friends who I would classify as fanboys. If it was a video game system and it had Microsoft on it, they'd talk about how great it was. If it had Sony on it, they wouldn't even have to try it and talk about how it's the worst thing ever.

The second all of Microsofts policies were announced, as well as Sony's "lack of" policies, they switched.. They were so pissed off at Microsoft that whenever they did change their policies, they said "Too late, my mind is made up".

Because it's what my friends will be playing on, with a couple exceptions. They saw the headlines and made their decisions based on rumors before the concessions, facts and other things came about (ie "lack of used games" which was never more than a rumor and in the end there would have just been some restrictions like which retail outlets you could sell them to).

We'll have a One eventually, to replace the Kinect + Netflix + Entertainment hub functions that the 360 will continue to provide (which the One truly takes to the next level) and the PS4 will still decline to try and match up against because for whatever reason they haven't gone the route of skeleton tracking, voice commands, etc with their Move product. If they did (maybe patents are in the way or something?) and did it well then I'd have a hard time justifying getting a One in the long run. They copied the Wiimote instead of the Kinect though, so it is what it is.

The points Uber made for the most part of the foundation for valid criticism IMO, namely #3, but we'll see how everything shakes out. I'd also toss in #4: $100 cheaper.

Price point is huge in this discussion and one of the reasons I'm still considering PS4 - long term it isn't much, but perception matters here to a lot of people.

#5 is also that a lot of people here are jumping ship to PS4, so people on my friends list will probably be moving. Need to decide if that matters or not...What system your friends get.

A lot of my friends aren't "jumping ship" but are waiting until after launch before they get one. So for a while they will have a PS4 only but will more than likely also have a XB1 by mid summer.

Not sure when they will release a date but I will go with second week in November. The 360 was second week in November also right?

                        Re: Xbox One

I don't think anyone would disagree that Microsoft dropped the ball early on with the Xbox One. Not to say it's going to be a bad console (I actually think it will be great) but I'm not jumping out to buy one. Microsoft severely misjudged the reaction on DRM, always online, and the general lack of attention to gaming in my opinion. The bundling of Kinect is also hurting.

At this point in time, I don't need a lot of the features that the Xbox One is offering. I'm happy with Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, UFC, WWE, and Watch ESPN apps on the Xbox 360. The entire TV thing is completely unnecessary as I already have a cable box that provides me with a capable guide and viewing experience. And I have a TV that allows me to split the screen between my Xbox 360 and my cable. I don't care at all about the voice commands or the Kinect in general.

What I do care about is the gaming. Battlefield 4 is what is pushing me to buy a new console on launch. The one thing that I'm really intrigued by is the Xbox One's cloud computing. I wish Microsoft could explain more of what the cloud can do and will do. The cloud is the one place I could see the Xbox One kicking the PS4's ***. The amount of money dumped into it is amazing. It's the one thing that is keeping me intrigued in the Xbox One.

At this point, I'm leading towards the PS4 simply because it's $100 cheaper and it offers what I'm looking for at the moment from the next gen consoles which is gaming. I think the Xbox One will beat the PS4 on the entertainment and online services department. However, I don't see that really helping the Xbox One until a couple years down the road. Quite simply, I just don't think the Xbox One is offering what people really want at this point. The next gen consoles are going to be about the gaming right now. That's the whole reason for paying a premium to get upgraded hard drive. The entertainment stuff should come down the road when the novelty of the new hardware wears out. You think Microsoft would know this as this is exactly what they did with the Xbox 360 and it was widely successful.

Not to get into a debate, but they have plenty of games to offer. So the system IS about gaming. It just depends on whether you are interested in their AAA titles as the 3rd party titles will be shared. The very thing that has you somewhat interested and the money they poured into it would seem to indicate that the system is still going to be about games.

After a month of saying I was going mainly PS4 I've come to my senses. Buying both and have release day on both. I'm selling the PS4. Why you might ask? I just have more faith in Microsoft. Both system I'm sure will be great in there own way but knowing Microsoft and there online. That seals it.

Ordered both from Amazon the minute they were announced and last night I noticed an ad for Launch day system from Microsoft on Xbox live so I ordered another one. Gonna give one to my son and keep the other. PS4 will be sold on Ebay

I did pretty much the same thing, 2 Xbox Ones (for me & my son) & a PS4. I don't know how long I'll keep both next gen systems but if the exclusives are worth it I will.

If all systems are about the same from a graphics standpoint . (Giving the slight edge to ps4 in memory and gpu)

Launch day exclusives (Ryse, dead rising ,KI) intrigue me more than (killzone and knack,Drive Club) But even thats open to opinion

I think its the extra features like the TV, NFL Xbox, multitasking and possibilities a non fragmented kinect could bring in the future Would be the reason im going with the X1 over the ps4.

While i think the PS Share thing is cool im just not sure if i will ever want to let somebody beat a board or level for me.

I have pre order for both and unless something drastic happens im probably gonna go with the x1 and sell the ps4 pre order.
