Is personal preference but I'm with you. Went from 46 inches to 110 inches and it is amazing and so immersive.

60 inches and below is so small now when I use one and am looking forward to getting a bigger screen when the space opens up.

Typically: DVR to the Xbox to the Receiver to the TV. All HDMI if possible.

Yeah, have HDMI. So i'd connect it as normal and then run a an hdmi cable to the Receiver?

Yep, just put the AVR in between the Xbox and the TV.

FYI that a very small subset of cable boxes (mostly Verizon/Frontier boxes) don't allow more than 1 box to sit in between them and the TV.

Which DVR do you have? I had issues with the DirecTV Tivo that I had to alleviate by keeping the XB1 in power saving mode. All this means is that you can't wake it with voice command, and it doesn't update in the background.

But I upgraded to a Genie and it works perfectly.

                Games with Gold for May:

                1st half of month: Dust
2nd half of month: Saints Row The Third....

Not terrible, still a little behind the PS+ times, but hopefully at E3 or so they'll have the more updated GWG program that's more competitive.

Nope....I'm thinking maybe June at E3? It's coming "later this year" we just don't know exactly when.

They're trying to update the program, just that some stuff gets locked in earlier so they can't just drastically change things right away I think.

I expect little more than a sprinkling of indie titles like what Sony is doing, with the occasional 'surprise, here's a 9-12+ month old retail title that stopped selling meaningful units a couple quarters ago'

PS+ is only really sustainable as-is late in the generation on an older console, it's going to be dialed back as much as GWG ramps up and they'll meet somewhere in the middle. The key will be differentiators... Sony can add on benefits of Playstation Now (my prediction is basically the return of their full game trials but via streaming and rentals) but I'm not sure what MS will add. Would like permanent discounts or something on digital titles for starters.

Good points...I'm thinking Ryse will be the first GWG for Xbox One, but that's just a guess.

MS knows that people think GWG is crap though, when compared to PS+. Even though there's the difference between GWG letting you own the game vs. PS+ requiring the subscription (which is really funny, cause XBL usually has everything behind the pay wall). People just see "PS+ had this game a year ago, why just now for GWG" so they have to change.

I'm not really a fan of having my online subscription be a mode for free games. I get why Sony had to go the route, but XBL was worth paying for because they invested in a great service. Peeling off revenue to support free games reduces the revenue they can use to make online play great.

Plus, it has to hurt software sales. How often do you see people say they will wait because they can guess that it will be free later?

Lastly, I never thought that PS+ was that great because the idea of paying for games, but not controlling what get felt like a bad way to spend my money. It also devalues games. People, like with Steam sales, just accumulate titles and build piles in their account.

I don't get this at all.
PS+ .. in just the better than average and some great.. free games, has paid for itself 10 times over.
Never heard before that free and or discounted games was a negative.
If you're going to pay for a subscription anyways why not be happy about free games being included.

And PS+ is certainly worth paying for if not JUST for the free games that pays for the subscription in no time at all.
The current PSN has been nothing but top notch so far with speeds etc..so I have zero issues there.

And what do you mean "paying for games, but not controlling what get felt like a bad way to spend my money"

By the way this is from a XBOX Live since beta guy. I recently dropped LIVE due to not getting the X1 as of yet.
