I can plug the I.R blaster and make my fios tv box part of my samsung with the guide.

That's cool. Still don't understand why you wouldn't hook it up to gain the snap feature though along with voice commands. You could still use your smart tv to do whatever you want along side it. To each their own though.

....and now it all makes sense .

We have a Samsung Smart TV too, paid for the 8k series I think it is to boot just so I could use an evolution kit later if I wanted.

Then we rarely used the apps BEFORE this generation because of our Xbox 360 / PS3... then got an Xbox One and now we rarely use a remote while using Youtube, Pandora, and Twitch because it's always on and we can get those, any other app, and 20+ games that are installed with just a voice command. We don't really use the guide for TV either, just verbally change the channel. Only really ever grab a controller if im browsing something like Youtube/Twitch and not sure where I want to go.

Not a lot of content but 4k is really dependent on screen size and viewing distance too.

Irrelevant with smaller sizes and sitting further away. It's funny when I hear someone grab a small 4k screen and they sit 4m away.

Have you seen them in 4K on Netflix on a 4K tv?

Have you seen 4k blu Ray? I don't think anyone has and one thing is certain, Netflix compresses all their streams. Have you ever compared how bluray looks compared to 1080p Netflix streams? No comparison.. Now, with that said I'm not saying Netflix 4k doesn't look amazing. I'm saying once we get 4k bluray it's going to look even better and there will be an incentive to get interested in 4k since more content will be available.

4k looks great but there are not enough things out in 4k to justify a purchase. At least for me.

Yes the tv comes with a smart remote as well that acts like a mouse pointer web browsing and has voice commands you speak into the controller

Finally got one of these this week. Would have loved to be in the preview program, but I don't have any friends that I know of that are in it.

I love how quick I can flip between a game and TV with the Xbox.

A simple "Xbox, watch TV" and boom, I'm watching the game and my current games progress is saved.

It might not seem like much but it's tough to go back to punching inputs after doing it for awhile.

I also love saying "Xbox on" and everything is up and running by the time I crack a beer.

Don't knock it till you try it.

I've tried it all weekend. The fact that the picture quality is not as good through the x box and the voice commands don't always work. ...I've decided to go back to just having it through the dvr.

I got the xbox to turn on once by Shouting xbox on numerous times and changing channels was hit or miss.

Even having the apps at easy access wasn't a draw. With my xbr I can get 4k Netflix and amazon content as well as stream my collection through the tv dlna.

The TV even has an xm app so I don't feel as if I'm missing out on anything not having the xbox always on.

As far as the guide the Sony has an app called the side show which has a guide and tending shows recommendations etc and my phone controls the tv, receiver and dvr.

Just need to go through calibration with some background noise, rather than everything quiet and that fixes most recognition issues for the most part.
