The voice commands just work so well at this point for me. Even Xbox on works every time for me now. Don't even need to pause after saying Xbox anymore. If I didn't have kinect I probably would find it useful though.

Our living room has super high ceilings and we have some trouble at times with Xbox On...in the bedroom with normal ceilings it's fine, so that room the sound scatters more.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Also this way you could power it on from your phone before you even get into the same room.
That's really more up to Comcast than it is to us. I know our business team has had discussions with tons of companies and Comcast is probably part of that. However, I don't have any insight into this, and if I did, I couldn't say.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Xbox One
Question to Xbox one owners. Was wondering how
Many of you bought X1 initially but have also gone on to buy a PS4 as well. I have really not had a game that has wowed me yet on X1 and feel like maybe I should have bought a ps4. I bought X1 because I had so much fun on the 360. I have not had a baseball game that was good to play in many years on Xbox which doesn't help matters. Not trying to start a debate about what system is better just want thoughts of maybe other il users who might be feeling underwhelmed

Now I just don't have time to play a million games, especially sport ones. The Order didn't sound that great IMO, and I don't mind missing The Show.
Otherwise the exclusives battle isn't really that big on either side to be honest. I personally have Unity, GTAV, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age, and Sniper Elite 3 waiting for me, so I'll always have top notch games to play.
I don't think PS4 alleviates your exclusives bug, I think both have been lagging a bit with top level exclusive games. I know Phil Spencer at Xbox is focusing on Exclusive stuff at E3.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

With friends not as active as they thought they'd be the One ends up with the edge in our house because it's always on and aside from the PS4 everything that happens in the living room involves it.

My PlayStation 4 gets turned on every day. My One gets turned on twice a month to get my Games With Gold.
Exclusives are up to you. You can't base what games you like based on what others will tell you. There's been games that people say are some of the greatest of all-time that don't appeal to me at all (Halo, the Uncharted Series) and games that people hated that I liked.--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Re: Xbox One
I use my XB1 everyday. Was kind of thinking about getting a PS4 for The Show, but there is literally no other exclusives I want. That's just too much to spend for so little. I already have a Wii U taking up space and gathering dust.
Basically, I love having everything funneled to one input, and would choose any multiplatform game for the XB1 because of it. Plus I really like the activity feed and social aspects like game hubs. I get that for many, next gen means lots of pixels. For me, it's access and sharing socially.
For as social and awesome as the 360 was, it feels so much more lonely now when I do play games on it. Playing TW 13 & 14 recently really just made me crave an XB1 version.Comment

PS4 is far better when it comes to Indies and PSN games which is the opposite of last generation when XBLA blew away PSN. Won't comment on online since im an off-line single player gamer but I don't think either is worth their respective yearly price.
Exclusives wise, both have been average at best. Knack was a 7/10 to me. Currently started Infamous: Second Son so I won't comment on it just yet. The Order: 1886 was an excellent game in my opinion and while I originally rated it a 9/10, I would lower it to an 8.5/10 after playing through it a second time. No game has wowed me whatsoever but I will say that after playing The Order, every game should follow it in regards to going from gameplay to cinematic and from cinematic to gameplay in a seamless transition.
Purchased and then traded in Bloodborne but only because of me participating in NFL Mock Drafts. Will pick it up again during the summer when it's slow.
Over on the Xbox One side, im currently playing Ryse: Son of Rome and on chapter III. Love the executions and slicing and dicing. LOL. The inability of turning off the controller vibration is my main negative thus far about the game. I'm sure that there will be other negatives like game length, etc. but aside from that one major negative, im enjoying the game thus far.
After Ryse, I have State of Decay which is an excellent survival zombie game. Disappointed that the frame rate, bugs and graphical glitches still exist in the port two years later. Ori looks amazing but just like on PSN, im waiting for it to go on sale for $10 or less. I'm done paying more than $10 for any Indie/PSN/XBLA game as it's not worth it.
After all that, there's still exclusives to look forward to on both consoles but I do believe that in the end, PS4 will win in this regard as it seems like the major exclusives for Xbox One will come out sooner while on PS4, they'll come out later. Basically the same as last generation. Doesn't help either console that Quantum Break and Uncharted 4 were delayed until 2016. UGH.
However, there's still Until Dawn, Ratchet and Clank remake, God of War III remastered and the long rumored Uncharted trilogy for the rest of 2015 while Xbox One has Fable Legends, a new Forza game, timed exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider and their big game, Halo 5. Must admit that out of these eight games, Tomb Raider is number one on the list.
If anything, 2015 is turning into a repeat of 2014 - remakes, remasters and definitive editions of previous gen games and third party games overshadowing exclusives. At least to me anyway.
I'm still happy to own both consoles and you have to remember that we're only literally 18 months into the generation. I think what hurt this generation is that all three consoles released a year too early. When you have a PS3 remaster in The Last of Us being the best game on both consoles thus far, it's kind of sad. All the remakes, remasters and definitive editions aren't helping either because to me, that's taking time away from actual sequels or new IP's.
In the end, im still planning on buying a Wii U once it gets a rice cut down to $200 so I can have all three consoles which is the best way to go as you won't miss out on any game that you want to play.
I do recommend buying a PS4 to keep with your Xbox One but not until there's games you really want to play or other reasons. For me, I purchased an Xbox One earlier this month because I finally had enough gift cards for Best Buy to do so, there was a solid deal on it, has a free month of sling and simply, just wanted to have it so when a game gets released that I want to play, I know I can do so at any time I want.
My biggest complaint about Xbox One is the lack of an on/off option for the controller vibration. Seriously, it's ******* annoying as hell and whoever thought that was a good idea should be smacked in the back of the head. UGH.
As for feeling underwhelmed, I can honestly say that both consoles have been underwhelming in general for various and different reasons but on the positive side, I would much rather prefer the underwhelming part during the first two years of the console as opposed to the middle or especially the end.Comment

Re: Xbox One
OK, thanks for the context. The comment about blacks not looking as good and it being grainy makes me wonder if it's an HDMI-out setting on the Xbox or a TV setting. Here's a few things to try before messing with that:
1) Pull the power cord on the genie while the Xbox One is on, to power cycle the STB.
2) Many of the older direcTV boxes have a resolution chooser on the front. Does the Genie mini have that? Can you verify it's at either 720p or 1080i? (both should look reasonable and are basically the same (both use the same amount of HDMI bandwidth)
If neither of those fixes the issue, here are some tips I got from the HDMI out team.
So I set my tv back to run through my Xbox and tried the troubleshooting. Still looked poor. So I thought about resetting all of my direct tv boxes and I think that might have done the trick. Picture looks sharp again. Does that sound like what could have been the issue? A simple reset of the set top box?Comment

For you, if PS4 has a bunch of exclusives that you are interested in, you should pick one up. Otherwise, I don't think it would be that much different of an experience. YMMV, of course.XBL: Mean Greene
