I've had to update my controllers after the last two updates. It's nice having the newer ones and not having to plug them in to update.

As I was updating them last night, I was thinking to myself... "You idiot, why didn't you do this earlier. You should have known to do it with a whole new OS being installed and updated over and over"

I actually hate Xbox right now....

Support is trying to get me to pay over 200 bucks to fix both my systems that refuse to read new discs.

One was "fixed" a year ago under warranty and is now broken again.

I've tweeted at Phil and Major Nelson, I feel so abandoned by them. I buy into the Xbox lifestyle and get punished for being such a fan.

I can't afford 250+ bucks to fix something that should be working as is....that's money out of my kid's mouth right now.

That sucks, they should at least fix the one they repaired free of charge. I'd just keep patiently work my way up the chain and be polite but determined and hopefully someone will help you get them repaired without any charge or a lot cheaper.

Is always smart to buy extended warranty when buying multiple consoles. SQUARE TRADE offers cheap ones

There is no chain, MS just wants to f you over....I asked if I could escalate it and she essentially told me to bend over.

I don't feel this is how a company should treat users....Making me tempted to just bail on Xbox and go to PS4

I think it stinks though that these systems almost force us to get a warranty because of the issues. My damn Intellivision from 1978 still fires up and works first try every time. I am currently playing Link to the Past on my SNES, works like a charm.

I had to replace my 360 four times. Luckily it was free every time. My PS2 once. So far so good for Xbox One. I am a teacher at a private school and make basically nothing (which I choose to be here so not complaining, love it here) but when I drop $400 + on something I usually don't have the extra $100 to spend just in case.

Yeah, i guess i'll do that now, but usually at the time I'm not itching to waste money on that, and 99% of electronics I don't run into constant problems like Xbox apparently has.

360 and One are the only ones that have been systematically defective for me.

Just frustrated...I get that sometimes electronics have issues, but now this is 3 separate times I get the same issue. To me that's not normal.

Oh well, might see if I can trade them in eventually to Gamestop (right now they're giving 250 in value, and if I traded in GTAV with one of them then that disc should work in their test...They also are giving a free controller with new Xbox Ones. May just have to wait for another deal though, cause eating 100 bucks isn't something I was planning on right now.

Seems to be a better deal vs. having MS fix it though...

Just try one more time to get them to at least do one console....The other console you can do digital downloads only

Sony will not fix after warranty either...And they charge $150 to fix and you must pay to return it...

Is how these companies operate...I feel consoles should have 3 years from purchase date

Hmmm..Great idea...You have two and take the chance and trade them at gamestop for $500 credit and get the elite or another other bundle plus free controller and game of choice...Win Win?

Sorry to hear that mgoblue. I really don't have great advice here, but I think you may have better luck. What you're experiencing isn't normal, expected, or right.
