Have an opportunity to purchase a less-than-year-old 500GB XB1 with Kinect, 1 controller, headset, Titanfall, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5 for $280 CDN.

Thinking about getting it, but I'm worried that I'd prefer a Scorpio with it's upgraded hardware.

Will the games really run that much better on the S than an original console?

You do realize that the S is not the Scorpio right?

If you are getting a first time xb1 then get the old version if you do not have a 4K tv and just want to game on it

You will save money and get bundles with games included

If you have a 4K tv then go for the slim that cost 300 which comes out in 2 weeks with Madden for 350 or Halo 5 for 300

The Scorpio comes fall of 2017 and that one will be a huge huge huge jump from xb1 or xb1s

The Xbox One S doesn't have a built in wireless adapter, does it? My console isn't very near my router, so I'd like to use wifi.

Would think it would be a big deal if that was removed, but in hardwired so never checked.

I think the original Xbox 360. It required the USB adapter to be wireless.

Yep. Original 360 you needed to get adaptor.

Has anyone ever had issues with their wifi getting extremely slow speeds?

I had my original XBO in the family room, my gf got one to play online games together and that is in the 4 seasons room. I got a 2nd one for myself a year and a half ago to put in my office to play on a monitor. On the 5ghz band, all three get speeds of about 60-70 mb/s down (faster than powerline adapters I used before getting this router, those only got about 40 down.)

I got my new XBO S last week for the family room on the 4k tv. The original in there went up to the bedroom, 2 floors up from the router and it still gets about 50 mb/s down. But the XBO S only gets similar speeds temporarily.

After a hard reboot, it shows about 60 mb/s down, good. But then after a few hours, I will notice lagging in online games, or buffering/lower resolution when streaming video. Check the speed...1 to 5 mb/s down (while the other ones are still getting around 60.) Do a hard reboot, right back to around 60 like it should be. But each time it ends up dropping down again.

I tried a system restore, I tried something I saw online where you disable the "play to streaming" option and reboot...both worked but only temporarily, so essentially the same result as a hard reboot.

Anyone had this issue and know of a fix that works permanently? Or does this sound like a bad wifi card where I should just exchange it for a new one at Best Buy?

I think you would have seen the outrage if Microsoft tried to sell this console without native wi-fi.

Is there an ETA on when there will be an update to allow Groove music to play in the background? I signed up for the 4 month trial, but quickly found it's pretty much useless if you have to have the app open or snapped to listen too. Hopefully Groove dies out soon and they just adopt Spotify like Sony did.

You probably have to download it again, I was having the same issues and Odogg suggested I download it again due the the Preview Program, once I re-downloadwd it, I havent had any issues with it.

If you are in the Preview program: it works now

                                If you are not: soon
