Rebuttals must have some merit if you have to resort to dismissing the person instead of continuing the discussion.

I have no idea what happened with scalebound. I havent really defended them at all in that situation. Since I don't know what went down.

There's always room to improve though I agree with that. I'm just wondering where all these games are that don't focus on single player. I agree about the halo 5 campaign. It was not that great. The halo series for the most part had been well received campaign wise. So has gears. I thought that was obvious.

I just mentioned sunset OD earlier because that seems exactly what a few people were asking for. A new unique IP.

So far this gen exclusive wise I've played

      Ryse
      Ori
      Dead rising
      Gears 4
      Forza
      Sunset

There might be others I'm forgetting but Those all have fairly extensive single player modes or are solely single player. Hell I think the only exclusive I've played extensively where I would agree is Titanfall but that was clearly rushed because they needed it at the time. Wasn't quantum break totally single player too? I just think the outlook that Microsoft only makes online games is not accurate. It really seems like having an online aspect at all is shying people away from enjoying the single player stuff that is there.

        Re: Xbox One

Outside of Naughty Dog and MLB the Show, there is nothing about Sony's exclusive games that interest me much at all.

But then, I think Halo 5 is freaking awesome on many levels, both single player and MP. Gears 4 is the same. Forza has delivered insane amounts of content that has sucked up ridiculous amounts of my time among their releases. Seriously, they are as bread and butter as Mario was back in the day.

At the end of the day, those are the games I anticipated coming out when deciding which console I wanted. I will take the shooters and the racers, because every thing else, outside of baseball, can be covered by multiplatform games, of which their are many. And despite Sony's improvements, I will still cling to my XB1 controller as what I want to game with.

More great games is always better. But I think it is insane that anyone thinks a narrative that says the XB1 is lacking in games is ridiculous.

I will put this here for anyone that wants to read it, I think it does a good job of summarizing what I meant. At the end of the day it all comes down to preference. Some of you love what Microsoft has been putting out and think it's great, others don't, and some want more.

This is a post from Reddit in which someone summarized his feelings on that Scalebound cancellation.

I'm gonna be honest, the vast majority of that list of Sony games are crap that won't ever make a real difference. If I'm Microsoft, I let Sony continue to fund that stuff, because I don't think it is making them that much money. The Order and Driveclub are good examples.

Scalebound was definitely a Japanese styled game meant to attract a certain niche of gamer. It was a also a bad bet for two reasons. One, those gamers weren't going to play it anyway. Scalebound was mostly dumped on as looking like crap. Two, it wasn't panning out to be a good.

Executive gamers want Microsoft to money hat crap for image. The Order and Driveclub are again great examples. those are games you put on your TV and point at, telling your friends how awesome the power of the PS4 is. you don't play them

I mean, if you are looking forward to Knack 2, then the Xbox One is not your console. But this is mostly a created controversy aimed at further eroding Micrsosoft's mindshare among gamers.

It is insane that anyone buys into the notion that gaming, on XB1 or PS4 is anything but freaking awesome right now.And posts like the one you linked to, which is nothing but a list war meant to get console warriors riled. It has really worked, too.

I didn't see it as a post to start a console war at all, more of a genuine perspective from an Xbox fan as he mentions at the beginning of the post in regards to the Scalebound cancellation. I'm sorry that you chose to see it that way. I read a lot of the comments on that post as well and most of them were not console war warriors, a lot of it was people just wanting more from Microsoft.

I'm not really sure what your comment about Knack 2 has to do with anything and how if someone is looking forward to that game then Xbox isn't for them.

I appreciate your response and opinion, mine is different and I don't really agree with anything you said. I think a lot of those games on that list will be quite successful. It's actually funny that you mention Driveclub because there is actually a front page post on the PS4 Reddit about it today. Despite that Studio shutting down it seems to still be doing quite well in terms of player population.

I don't think for a minute that the single player campaign for Gears of War 4 was just thrown in. In general, I wasn't saying that the single player campaigns have ever been thrown in. I am saying that Microsoft is more online multi-player focused than the single player campaign. Basically, for Microsoft, online multi-player is their primary focus (just look at Scalebound...it was a single player RPG when it was first announced but later on, it became a co-op game) with the single player campaign being secondary to them.

Look at Sony exclusives. Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone, God of War IV, Detroit: Become Human and others past and future are primary focused on being single player campaigns. Outside of Uncharted 4, TLOUR and Killzone: Shadow Fall, do any of the Sony exclusives even have online multi-player?

Anyway, that's the number one reason why I prefer Sony exclusives over Microsoft exclusives. Sony's primary focus is the single player aspect which as a single player gamer is what I want the most. After that, it's about what the genre of the game is.

DriveClub was great, it's biggest sin is its not Forza. If one had an Xbox One it just ain't competitive with it.

Jeez. Out of those 25 games, im buying 14 of them day one with a few others being 50/50. If anything, for me personally, it's too many games.

Really? It's one thing to not be interested in certain games, but saying that the "majority" of that list is crap is just a ridiculous statement especially when that list isn't even the author's entire point.

Sony games are crap??? LOL. Sorry but obviously have Sony and Microsoft confused bud. LOL.

Also, it's not about list wars and console wars.

It's about GOOD to GREAT exclusive GAMES that you can't play anywhere else. Look at me. I don't give a crap about the racing/driving genre but yet, I went and bought an Xbox One Slim for the second time just so I can play Forza Horizon 3 and the expansions.

Why? Because Forza Horizon 3 is a GREAT exclusive game that I can't play on PlayStation 4. I don't think asking for good to great exclusives is asking a lot.

This is precisely the reason I always buy both consoles and can never just stick to one. To me, each console has strengths and weaknesses and they both make games I want to play. Them canceling scalebound doesn't bother me one bit. The game didn't look that great to me anyway. I'll also say that some of the exclusives are great on both consoles, but I can personally just pick a handful on each console that to me were great on either console.

I'm gonna agree. Calling them crap was out of line. I don't think they will amount to anything worth choosing one console over another, but I'm sure most will be fine games. I overreacted to the list war stuff that "explains" the problem with the Xbox.

I don't think anyone wants the list of the 90 or so games I have for the Xbox One right now. It doesn't really prove anything.

I'm 100% the opposite. I like to game, but I've found that no matter what platform I have, there are more games than I have time for. Buying multiple consoles just devalues the hobby, as I'm spending more money, taking up more space, and increasing my clutter, but I'm not spending any more time gaming.

When I moved back into console gaming, I just stopped my subscription to PC Gamer and just read up on the games on the platform I am playing on. I have a Mac, so I play a few games on it, but obviously gaming is zero concern for what I choose to use as a computer.

If I had bought a PS4, I really wouldn't care what was available on the XB1. And I would have no problem finding enough games to play. That wouldn't mean Halo 5 and gears 4 are bad, just that I can actually live just fine if I don't play every must have game.

To me xbox games have always been crap ever gen. Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 4, TLG, Drive club are all much better then any thing on xboxone and Horizon zero dawn also looks better then any of the crap on xboxone. Also have Spider-Man at some point. That is 6 games that are most likely going to be better then any thing xboxone ever gets. I do think ps4 compared to ps3 the amount of games have been down but that could be starting to chance considering we got TLG towards the end of 2016 and now have Horizon zero dawn coming out shortly and also have Spider-Man maybe this year plus what ever other games we may not know about it.
