Im just wondering if we would still be able to use our PS3 PSN accounts, so that trophies carry over to the new system.

I think it's wise for Sony to concentrate on Vita and its working with the PS3. I would not say though that the PS3 has hit its stride. It's not selling well right now and has always lagged this generation. That's not to say it's a bad system.

That doesn't mean either that they should just introduce the PS4. But Sony, a once big time contender with the PS2, finds themselves trailing Nintendo and Microsoft. They are now the underdog. Sales show that, and the system's inability to make big waves really puts them in a tough position.

I asked this to original/360 Xbox owners saome time ago and they said the acheivements carried forward from last gen to next. I imagine Sony will do the same with PS3/next PS.

With trophies carrying over to Vita, I can't see them blowing that up for PS4 and having 2 trophy pools (PS3/Vita and PS4).

It makes sense, but nothing from Sony would surprise me. As the owner of a backward compatible Ps3 and a SIXAXIS because Sony proclaimed at the time vibration was a last-gen technology while they were being sued... things change.

Matt, the original Xbox didn't have achievements but I bet that MSFT will make this gens achievements carry over.

I know it doesn't effect sales, but Sony has sort of a cult following with some of their gamers. I'm one of those..

I loved/love my PS1, PS2, and my PS3..

It's almost a personal requirement, that I own a PS4 in the future..
