Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Extremely, there was 3 in the tower. Been farming filaments and patrolling the moon since I posted that and haven't seen a single soul here. Even a public event didn't draw anyone out from the cracks so I know nobody is here.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Has anyone had trouble with PSN as a whole? I understand there are hiccups any time something like this takes place, but I know it's not just me. I'm coming from Xbox in the previous generation and this network seems absolutely atrocious.
Besides the delays in friends lists populating, most times waiting 5-10 minutes for messages to appear, after I receive the message notification, attempting multiple times to connect to players in a party only to receive the NAT type prompt...
I feel like last gen the discrepanciesbetween the networks(Xbox, PS3) were justified in that it was free. But the things that I'm experiencing with the network seem to be inexcusable.
Yeah, it can be pretty bad. You can't even blame it on the systems firmware because the playstation app is slow as well. It takes seconds to load a single message. Sending a message on the app rarely works for me.Comment

I haven't had any issues with my friend list maybe its because I only have 13 ppl on it so that why it loads so quick... I could see if u having a lot it could take awhile.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Honestly, that was my first thought when I picked up the PS4. But decided to go with a simple micro usb phone charger that came with my phone. Room saver. No money out of pocket. Plus, I can game simultaneously while the controller is charging. No need for even a secondary controller.
A simple inexpensive micro usb cable is what I would say is a must have aside from games. And if you're looking to spend money, I'd say a harddrive upgrade.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
That would definitely be true if you have the cable hooked up directly to the PS4. My PS4 however, is hidden in my bedroom closet along with my AV receiver, 360 slim, computer, printer, etc. The micro usb cable is attached to an outlet (actually extension cord) directly next to my bed, opposite side of the room away from the PS4. So even a 3 foot microusb cord would work to simultaneously charge and game.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Turn it completely off then hold down the power button on the PS4 when you turn it back on. It will beep twice, once when you turn it on and again seven seconds or so later. Release the power button after the second beep and you'll get an on screen menu. One of the options on that menu is to rebuild the database. It will warn you that it may take several hours, but it's never taken me longer than a couple of minutes.
Make sure you plug your controller in so you can use it to select the rebuild database option.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I've learned my lesson with having cords on controllers almost lost a tv and console once from cats running through house they both got clotheslined the controller went flying so did the console and tv almost fell off stand.
since then I've been wireless and have always had a a extra controller and charger. the charger sits on my mini fridge in bedroom and is arm reach... and I just switch out when ones almost dead.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I would guess wired it's improved from on the Vita, but still not good enough for something that requires twitch precision like online shooters, the show, etc (although the show you could adjust to the lag if that was all you played). It makes sense, having a ping just 20 milliseconds higher in an fps can make a world of difference, doubt anything like this ever works for an online shooter.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
There was a video by a guy from Kotaku who said the, once wired, any input lag was barely noticeable and would probably only be an issue in online shooters. He played Diablo 3 and Driveclub.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Do you think this lag would be too great for a game like NBA 2k15? I played it remotely on my Vita last evening and shooting was nearly impossible. Too much lag. Add to that the fact that I would be switching between playing it straight up on the PS4 sometimes I would think it would really mess with your timing. Same with the show.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Switching back and forth though....yeah, that would be brutal.Comment
