And when I said what I said about 1080p, I would be saying the same thing as a 4K owner. Upscaling would have been a really nice bonus for that, to me.

I disagree. That's going backwards. No way they'd do that and no way in hell it would sell units if it only mainly did 1080p 60fps. I know I wouldn't. I would've stood with the original PS4 if that was the case..

Crake in time was the first ratchet game I ever played then went back and got tools and the HD collection to. Even though I like Nintendo and Mario I think Mario is overrated over all and the ratchet games are better.

Small gripe but I think my least favorite part of the Pro design is the buttons

I guess my question is: is it necessary for one to suffer over the other? Like, do we have to pick just one to support?

Would it be too hard for devs to include a 1080p/60 as well as full 4k/checkerboard upscaling? It would be nice if this became a standard for future releases at some point

I think you guys are right that 4k is and will remain the main focus of the Pro, I would just like to see more devs follow in ROTTR footsteps for 1080p options as well as the 4k treatment. I guess it's clear that it can be done (both sides getting a full meal) it just depends on devs putting in work?

But you guys are right and the bottom line is Sony hasn't really marketed this system towards 1080p gamers very much at all and didn't mention frame rate increases often at all leading to release

Of course that's the only Toshiba I've owned but I'd say we got $ worth from it.

The buttons being to small would be a gripe of mine as well. They are practically hidden and good luck going to eject a game in the dark lol. Otherwise I like the build quality as it is nice and sturdy compared to the og ps4.

Samsung KS8000 is 897.99 on Amazon for the 49 inch right now and 997.99 for the 55 inch one. What one should I get? Looks like the KS8500 the ones that are curved are 100 more.

Been at work all day obsessing over input lag and trying to decide if I should turn off HDR. After doing some more research it sounds like anything 50ms and below won't have any impact playing shooters online so I think I'll be good.

I did a little testing on BF1 and couldn't tell a difference either way.

Really happy with how great that game looks and how smooth it is online so I can't wait to see how it looks when they release the 4K patch.

It had been my understanding that 50 or less was considered at least decent but I wasn't sure if that was true anymore so I didn't say anything when you said hdr mode on your way graded out at 48.

which has GREAT motion but subpar HDR (but app a patch is coming out for it)

                          I currently have a samsung

but i feel the samsung goes better with the xbox and that the sony ob. goes better with the pro.

I "think" both are going for the same 1600 BUT these are the 65inch models

the 60 inch samsung KS8000 goes for 1200
and there no Sony variant at 60

                          I have 55 now

                          i need to go bigger

But i dont know how much a difference 55 to 60 is or 55 to 65 is to know

I save about 400 going less
and spend about 400 more going bigger?

                          DECISIONS
I know you prefer bigger screens but seriously, for $650, the 43" Sony X800D 4K HDR TV is very good value. The input lag is also better on the X800D compared to the X850D. I would suggest the Samsung KS8000 over the Sony X850D but comparing the Samsung KS8000 to the Sony X800D, you can go either way. Both are very good sets. Depends on how much money you can spend and how much money you're willing to spend. To me, the screen size being bigger doesn't mean much if the smaller screen is the better picture. The X850D has lower ratings in the test results in every category except for motion. Obviously, up to you bud.

Playing Titanfall 2 on the X800D with HDR on, the game looks absolutely stunning on the Pro especially after testing out my TV settings and making a few changes.

On a related note, the X800D is easily better than those two other TV's that are being bundled in with the PS4 PRO.

Just order the KS8000 55 inch TV off amazon came out to about 1074 after Tax was trying to buy a 4k TV for around a 100 so came a little over that schedule it for delivery on sat the 19th. I have never order something on amazon where you have to be home when the deliver it before. What time do they normal end up at your place with it?

congrats on the excellent purchase...you have to be home to sign for it and if UPS delivers then you will get it whenever they usually go there during their normal route

If it is being delivered by Pilot service then you need to schedule the time of arrival which is like a 4 hour window

People should not buy a tv in 4K just for gaming....Gaming is highly important but I assume you want to watch tv and movies and sports and those things are vital important when you dropping dough

The Sony you have is very good for gaming with decent input lag numbers but the nit level is to low which hurts black levels and hdr

One key thing to always look for when wanting an HDR set is the NIT which samsung has them in the 1000 level compared to the Sony at 350

The brighter the screen the better the HDR will be and the better blacks and contrast will show
