 Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

I currently have the LG 27” 4K w/hdr monitor and have been using it with my X1X and Pro but I just purchased a new PC and it will be used strictly for gaming and was wondering what you all think about this Acer Predator vs what I currently have? Worth moving over to?

 Thanks in advance.

 Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

I would wait for this to go back on sale.... It usually goes on sale for 200 off once a month. I have this monitor and gaming on 1440p and 144hz is awesome... I barley play my ps4 now only for exclusives and Madden Ultimate Team.... Madden plays better on pc especially with this monitor but there isn't enough of a community to get cards. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-27...?skuId=5293502

If someone really wants to test the waters with that "once a month" statement, they could purchase it now and price-match it later if they keep their eyes open for that sale price as well.I would wait for this to go back on sale.... Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

I think if you've already experienced an IPS monitor, there's no going back to TN panels. You're going to be real disappointed with the color and it's washed out look.I currently have the LG 27” 4K w/hdr monitor and have been using it with my X1X and Pro but I just purchased a new PC and it will be used strictly for gaming and was wondering what you all think about this Acer Predator vs what I currently have? You will be going from 4k gaming to 1080p. That is a no for me even at higher FPSI currently have the LG 27” 4K w/hdr monitor and have been using it with my X1X and Pro but I just purchased a new PC and it will be used strictly for gaming and was wondering what you all think about this Acer Predator vs what I currently have? Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

For those who want the best 4k monitor for consoles and pc right now the LG new version of 27 UL600 or 650 is the better choice over the UK600 650 from last year

It has DP 1.4 and extended freesync works from 40 to 60hz for pc unlike last year which required normal mode that did about 48 to 60hzComment

I second this. Unless you are playing professionally or something. You get the best of both worlds

 Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

Ended up getting the best of both worlds I guess and settled on this monitor. Got BB to price match Dell for $499. If miss 4k at any point I’ll just plug my LG monitor back up but from what everyone keeps telling me is I won’t miss it after playing on a 144Hz.

For 500 you could have gotten the ASUS IPS 165hz at MicroCenter if you have one for 570 or the Acer equivalent for 550

That Dell is terrible because it has washed out colors and terrible color banding.

The 24 inch version of that Dell is superior and can do 165hzComment

 Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

I disagree highly, I have a nice 27" samsung IPS and the Dell 27" 1440, out performs my sammy in almost every area. Color accuracy might not be as good as the sammy but its surely isn't far off. I'd take the 1ms response time over the 5+ an IPS has all day. Ghosting is one of those things once you notice it, it sticks out like a sore thumb and something my sammy 5ms has. Plus how many games are you pushing 165+ in frames? 144 is over kill even for 2080 in most titles on max settings.NOOOOOO....HAHAHA

Only thing I will suggest is don't use the Dell DP cable, you will get signal drops. Get a good quality DP cable and run that bad boy in all it's glory, I love my Dell.Last edited by Phobia; 07-24-2019, 06:19 PM.Comment
