Not sure if this TV would last me long enough to need to worry about that, but I just want to minimize the costs for extras after I buy a TV. I don't really like the idea of spending $500 on a TV then having to go out and buy a HD Receiver and Digital Tuner and some other things.

I'm just not 100% sure about the technology and what I will/won't need after I buy a TV, so any help is appriciated. Also if anybody knows any in the <$600 price range that is acceptable(I know it won't be the greatest because of my price range), please start suggesting them.

      Sorry to ask another question...

but is this a good TV? All I'd want is to watch TV and play 360 in HD.

HDTVs with the built-in HD tuners are usually $150-250 more expensive. If you are planning on getting a HD package from the cable or satellite company, you may not need a tuner. A HD box is about $200-250, so it's probably a wash.

is it safe to assume that a television that states resolutions of 480p & 1080i with Progressive Scan Capabilities will be able to view TV & XBOX 360 games at 720p ? or is it only Progressive Scan Capable because of the 480p setting.. (which i thought i was EDTV only..)

^that's the television i'm referring to.

Anyone ever have a burnt pixel on a CRT tube? I have one now, and I have never seen it before on a tube ever. Any clues?

Thanks for the tip. I have been looking for a cheap HDTV for the bedroom to begin my venture into HD and this set was the best one I looked at and the price is nearly unbeatable unless you are willing to go with a refurbished TV.

I just made my purchase of an awesome HDTV for the same price as a new 360 (as soon as I find one on a retail shelf somewhere). I purchased this TV for the bedroom which will be where the 360 lives as well as movie watching. Can't wait to go pick it up and set it up. Thanks again!

I played the 360 version of 2K6 on my LCD monitor in 1280, and it is absolutely sick. Man, those textures look like reality. I replayed a LeBron dunk in slow-mo and focused on his face...it actually gave me the creeps.

Only problem with that resolution was the blurring effect when everything moved. Might be my monitor, not sure.

                          I got a question....

I was playing 2k6 360 on this tv in my room. At the bottom, I can see the score overlay but its sorta cut off. I have my 360 set on 1080i, why is it cuttin off the picture?
