not sure about those Receivers Casey. But I bought an outdoor antenna from radio shack for $50 and put it in our attic. Works great. You may or may not pick up anything with the boomerang antenna but it is worth a shot. It all depends on how far you live away from the broadcast towers.

I saw the one that you have at Radio Shack today. I almost picked it up (on sale for $39.99 right now), but I keep hearing that outdoor antennas are better than indoor when you're trying to pick up that HD signal, and since I live about 75 miles north of Phoenix, I'll probably need all the help I can get.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
Originally posted by caseydYeah, I can vouch for that. I'm in the middle of researching this stuff and I just got off the phone with Dish. They definitely don't give you an OTA antenna, but they said that one should work fine for HD Local. Radio Shack has a boomerang shaped one that they recommend. It's about $75. I just found out that HD is going to cost not only $10 per month extra, but another $5 because they say that if you want HD and DVR on the same TV, you need to have a second DVR as one of your other receivers. Anyone know what they're talking about? Also, anyone have experience with one of those shared tuners vs. 1 for each room? It saves $5, and basically in one room I'd have a remote that runs off radio signal so a separate box isn't required and you still have different viewing in each room. Does that make sense, and does anyone have this?Comment

Re: Another HDTV questions info thread
Here's a question for everyone:
I just got a largescreen for the living room, and I'm moving my Wega tube tv into the bedroom. I'm getting Dish or Direct tv, have a PS2, and have a DVD that will be attaching to this Wega. The Wega has one component, one svideo, and a couple composite inputs. I have a Monster PS2 component cable already that I've had for a while. Assuming I use that for the component input (so that I don't waste it), that leaves me with an svideo and a composite. Should I run the DVD on the Svideo or run the dish reciever on the Svideo? I'm not sure how much difference svideo would make over composite on Dish with that TV, and along the same lines, I'm not sure how much difference svideo would make over composite on a Toshiba DVD (not progressive scan or anything). I would welcome any suggestions.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095
