I don't know anything about this TV, but it seems like a solid deal and it's much cheaper than that one. Free Shipping as well.

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

For that price, I would recommend something like this:

Sony FD Trinitron WEGA XBR 34" Widescreen Flat-Tube HDTV
 Model: KD-34XBR970

 NFL: Tennessee Titans
 MLB: Cincinnati RedsComment

The 970 is good, but the picture isn't as good as the 960, I really have no reason why though. It's still a great set.Comment

It's still deep, though. I wont have enough room to put that Sony in where my space is now. Thats why I would need something really flat or wall-mounted, but I don't think I'm going to do the wall-mounted.

Thanks guys! Off to Best Buy to see if anything works out.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

I ended up getting the JVC 32" HDTV at Best Buy instead of the LG. The JVC looked terrific and the online reviews have been really great, apparently JVC makes some of the best LCD's out there, as they use the same panels as the Samsungs.

Got it home last night and hooked it up via HDMI to my DirecTV HD receiver and noticed a little noise on HD channels. Apparently DTV really compresses their HD signals compared to cable. Hopefully this will get better once they launch their new satellites.

Hooked up the 360 and it looks excellent, the colors pop off the screen like I've never seen.

Anyone have a recommendation on an upscaling DVD player around $100? I have 2 HDMI ports and I want to get a new DVD player to connect to the second HDMI port for upconverting purposes.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread

Sounds cool. I always wanted an upconvert DVD player, but due to not having a TV with HDMI for a long time it kept me from getting one. I still would like one, but I'm waiting for the HD-A2 to drop in price, BigFnJoe says that it does an excellent job in upconverting.I ended up getting the JVC 32" HDTV at Best Buy instead of the LG. They say it has to to with the 960 having a super fine line pitch. I like my set a lot. With Directv it looks great. Plus the matching stand looks great too.Comment
