Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
As a matter of fact, am just about ready to pull the trigger of a 50" Samsung DLP (720p/1080i). I believe the model is the HL-T5075S. Vanns.com has it for $1149.00 w/free shipping.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Guys my TV upstairs went out on me so I'm gonna get a new tv, and I was wondering if y'all had any recommendations. I want maybe a 50' to 60' in. I'm only gonna spend 1,500 and would like 1080p and/or DLP. Thanks in advance.Comment

That's my train of thought right now...I don't want to kick out the cash required for a decent 1080p set, but I can see myself in a year or two getting a new tv and moving the one i'm getting in a month or so into the bedroom.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Check out Vanns.com and Amazon.com. There are lots of good deals to be had. Some include free shipping. Not to mention their service plans are relatively inexpensive as well.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Got a question... the other day my picture tube busted in the HDTV .. already got the other one on the way.
But my question is, can a bad picture tube make your picture seem darker? The picture in my TV always seemed dark and white levels were just horrible, when I get my new one, will this " darkness " go away?RIP Sean Taylor. Still my idol!Comment

I got a Vizio 37 inch LCD HDTV tonight and it's sweer! I'm linking to Circuit City, but got it at Costco (parents are members) for 799 + tax. It's a perfect size for me, the HD channels I get just by plugging cable in (no HD box yet) are great, and the 360 looks amazing (played a bit of Forza).
Question, I've got the 360 hooked up using my VGA cable, is component better or no? I've got those cable too (from when I got the system), but I figured the VGA were better since the tv could take them.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Can you point me to the one you are using. And what does the monitor need to come with the make my 360 graphics look as sharp as possible. I am sure I will need some kind of cables correct?YNWAComment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Imo VGA is definitely the way to go, the picture will be noticeably sharper. The only real advantage component had was that colors appeared more vibrant, and as a result of MS's recent spring update even that is no longer the case:I got a Vizio 37 inch LCD HDTV tonight and it's sweer! I'm just using the Microsoft Xbox 360 VGA cable you can get at any store. It comes with everything, just plug your monitor's VGA cable into the Xbox 360 cable and you're all set. Monitors get HD graphics too, which is why I was using the monitor until I got a new tv.
And thanks guys, i don't think I'm overscanning, the picture looks good and I'm not missing any parts of it, so I'll just stick with what I've got for now, and when I get my HTIB and cable box I'll have to readjust the setups anyways.Last edited by mgoblue; 06-14-2007, 09:56 AM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Alright guys and gals... I'm on an HD mission here. My buddy has a room that's 23x25, and he wants a projector to put in there. He wants a low cost way to watch HD. Are projectors good at displaying HD resolutions? I've seen some running on ebay for $400-500.
I don't know anything about these things, so I'm not sure what to tell him to look for. Any suggestions?Twitter - WTF_OS
