CD's to look forward to...

Artist: Planet Asia
Album: "The Medicine"
Producer(s): Evidence (of Dilated Peoples)
Release Date: September 19th
Reason: I wasn't a huge fan of "The Sickness" but it did have its hot tracks. He is touted as a good lyricist, but I just don't hear it. Although, one song that I have able to get my hands on from this cd was "The Medicine" and the beat is rediculously hot. Asia does a decent job over it, but after you hear the melody, it really doesn't matter much. The rest of the songs seem kind of weak save for a few, but could potentially grow on ya. Another very good song however is "In Love" feat. Jonell, and "The Hustle Part II" feat. Shake.
Chance of Buying it: Pretty Good

Artist: Dan The Automator (Various Artists)
Album: "2K7: The Trax"
Producer(s): Dan the Automator
Release Date: September 19th
Reason: Videogame music is always good, no question about it. You get to hear fresh exclusively-made for the soundtrack sounds, and like NBA Live 2003, you get to here FABOLOUS!!! I'm not really into Fab's work, but we all know how he was able to drop some hotness when it came to "In the Game" and now he brings a whole new track "Ball til You Fall". I haven't heard any of the tracks yet, but the artists sound proomising. Hieroglyphics, Rakaa Iriscience, Ghostface & AG, Lupe Fiasco & Evidence, Mos Def, Chali 2na, The Tribe, and Zion I. Of course, on the flip side, we have Slim Thug. One thing that keeps me from buying Videogame sountracks though... you can hear them in the game, so who needs this?
Chance of Buying it: Not So Good
Chance of Buying NBA 2K7: Damn Good

Artist: PackFM
Album: "whutduzFMstand4?"
Producer(s): N/A
Release Date: September 26th
Reason: At this point, I can't really commit without knowing the producers, because in my opinion, the beat is the most important part. Its the foundation. The lyrical skill puts the song at higher levels. The reason this dude is on this list, is that he is known to be a pretty good emcee, but other than that, he isn't really known at all. I really don't care what FM stands for... I just want to know if this guy is really that good or not.
Chance of Buying it: Not Good

Artist: Big L
Album: "The Archives: 1996-2000"
Producer(s): N/A
Release Date: July 28th
Reason: Only 500 copies released to the world.
Chance of Buying it: Not Good (Good luck finding it)

Artist: Dave Ghetto
Album: "Almost Famous (The Mixtape)"
Producer(s): Fel Sweetenberg
Release Date: July 28th
Reason: Fel Sweetenberg is apparently a nasty producer who is working under the same roofs as Illmind, Khrysis, and 9th Wonder. You gotta wonder, when one works with those guys, and their talent rubs off, what this dude will be capable of... I'm expecting the flyest beats this side (the Dave side) of the Ghetto. Downfall... its just a mix cd. Albums tend to be more fun to buy.
Chance of Buying it: Very Good

Artist: Big Noyd
Album: "The Stick Up Kid"
Producer(s): Havoc; Ric Rude; Alchemist; Seb; King Benny; DJ Skizz; Garfield; Mario; The Grime Team
Release Date: August 22nd
Reason: I enjoyed his latest album "On the Grind" more than I thought I would, so I may be willing to give this one a listen. He seems to still not be separating from his buddies from Mobb Deep though, which can get kind of bland and boring. Make new friends man... don't be afraid of the world.
Chance of Buying it: Undecided
