Batman #3 was great. I like how Snyder followed up the action heavy #2 with a more story-focused, detective driven issue.

I picked up Batman: The Black Glove to continue the Damian arc. I was pleasantly surprised to see that JH Williams (Batwoman) did the art for the first half of the story-arc. I love his style.

This is probably the most consistent of the books out there right now. I loved the scene with Bruce and the politician (I forget his name) in the hospital room and the last couple or so pages (I won't ruin it for those who didn't read it)

I gave Catwoman a chance again and it was actually pretty good. A bit overdone on the pathos/drama at times and maybe the violence was skating toward exploitation a bit but the issue was a lot more substantive than the first two issues.

Red Hood and the Outsiders has found it's mark after a disastrous 1st issue though I get the feeling this is more of a "hipster" type book. Roy Harper is a very annoying character to me. Having said that, this book has a lot of action so it feels like a big dumb summer blockbuster. That's not too bad, sometimes one needs a little fluff.

Nightwing is a quietly outstanding little book. There was a good deal of character development but it didn't sacrifice the action at all and hey Batgirl is gonna repay the visit in her comic by visiting Dick's next issue!

The only real clunker this week was Justice League. Now I realize this is when they first meet/team up and all but my goodness I can't believe Wonder Woman was that bloodthirsty and naive! That being said, the ending of the book is excellent

Oh and the JL Wonder Woman is clearly different than the take in the WW book.

Yeah, I'm really impressed with Snyder. I've never read any of his stuff (or even heard of him before the new launch), but he's quickly becoming one of my favorites with Batman and Swamp Thing.

Batman #3's climax was great. The revelation/detective work with Batman was enough for me, but the twist at the end just me put over the top.

Also, I went through Swamp Thing 1-3 yesterday. It's a lot slower than the main comics, but I'm finding it interesting. Snyder just has a knack for explaining outlandish things in a way that is simple and easy to connect to.

Got an email from Marvel today that their Digital Comics service was 33% off for Cyber Monday. Use Code "cyber11" for the discount. Comes out to $42 for the year.
Anybody have this? Is it worth it?

No New 52 this week so any recomendations?

The Theory of Everything? Bomb Queen? Green Wake? The Dreamer? This Haunted World?
Saw a preview of Thunder Agents but that didn't look spectacular.

Just got around to reading last weeks yesterday. Looks like I, Vampire might crossover with Batman and/or Justice League Dark.

No New 52 this week? Damnit. I put off picking mine up last week because of the short week, plus its the "weak week" for me so I was hoping to bring home Superman and TDK with Action Comics. Damn.

Oh well. I guess I'll bring home Batman RIP.

IGN's The Best of DC Comics in 2011

Backed up on some comics for a couple of weeks, but I LOVE Green Lantern right now. I might pickup Supergirl. Animal Man and Swamp Thing don't interest me at all but I keep hearing great things about those titles.

For once I totally agree with IGN. Snyder's dialogue and plotting on Batman is ridiculously good. The only book out there that I consider its equal is Marvel's Uncanny X-Force.

I've been reading Comics for 30 years, and the just concluded Dark Angel Saga is as good a story arc as I've ever read.

The work done by the artists on these two books, Greg Capullo and Jerome Opena, respectively, must be given the highest praise as well.

I get Supergirl,Batman and I, Vampire. All very enjoyable so far. Though that last Supergirl was a little weird but still good.

So I read the 1st issue of the X-Sanction mini with the Avengers and Cable.....My head hurts

I only read my Marvels so far this week so I'll be reading the DCs which well....is quite a bit this week though thankfully a ton of Bat-Books which to me are the strongest books at DC right now with the exception of Swamp Thing.

Suicide Squad is living up to the name at least. Obviously Dead Shot and Harley wouldn't be killed off but it seems as if everyone else has a good chance of biting it.

I want to give a plug to another book that is top shelf, but may not be getting read by people here based on past experiences or pre-conceived notions.

                                Wonder Woman

Yep, Wonder Woman, Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang are killing it on this title. Before I use to consider the supporting cast and villains of Wonder Woman to be the worst of any super hero book by a very large margin. Now they're among the best.

Many die hard, old school Wondy fans hate the new direction, but a lot of people like myself who were lukewarm about WW, now love the book and the character. Only Batman is a better DC title right now IMO.
