I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion
Lastly Gary Oldman. 20 years ago he probably should have been the one to play the Joker instead of Jack. He was the king of those kinds of maniacal roles. To see him now play Mr Pragmatic, Jim Gordon, who is the true polar opposite of the Joker, is quite a turn. His work is being taken for granted too.
I expect the next film will have multiple villains, like both of the first, and probably ones that haven't been seen in the other films. I like the Black Mask suggestion, and Talia seems like a no-brainer. I kind of want to see them take an already existing villain and re-imagine him. The only one I can think of though is Clayface. Instead of being a big, clay, monster thing he could just be a master of disguise kind of guy who works as a hitman for the mob. I wouldn't envision him as the brains behind an operation, just an accessory.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion
Worst case scenerio is we get that 4 foot Rob Schneider as the Joker. Depp could be pretty good but I would almost rather see a somewhat unknown actor take the role, not a huge, big name star.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion
I know its a comic book movie, and it came out in the middle of the summer, but I really hope this is representated at the Oscars. I'm gonna say right now that its gonna be the best movie that I will see this year and has right away become one of the best movies I've seen.Comment

SpoilerHere's the sky hook thing. Sounds pretty cool.
http://www.damninteresting.com/?p=750SpoilerMaybe not with the skyhook, but what I don't get is why nobody ever shoots him when they recognize he's attempting some sort of escape. The one that sticks out in particular is when he kicks a S.W.A.T. guy off the edge of a building! Granted, nobody died because that was his exact intent, but exactly when is it the time to finally shoot him after something like that?
Of course, also at that time, he should have went (in raspy voice), "The clowns are hostages!" Come on, you know you can hear him saying that, too.
EDIT: By the way, I'm glad I saw the movie again, too. The way there was a stupid audio dropout during my movie made me miss what the hell his planned exit was in the first place.Last edited by Blzer; 07-21-2008, 12:07 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion
SpoilerWhen the Joker takes over the 18-wheeler and is chasing after Dent. When he makes the quick turn and the camera cuts back to him: I love this job. I love it I love it.
I've been saying that at work quite a bit.

Re: The Dark Knight Discussion
Well, I met my goal of seeing it 4 times opening weekend today. Figure I'll probably see it (maybe illegally) three or four times this week...I'll be up to about 10 viewings by next week.
Oh, and each time I view it I appreciate Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent and Two-Face so much more.Comment

I really want to see it for the second time though. After that I really don't know how I could watch it 2 times after that. I wouldn't doubt many have watched it 3 times or more though in the few days its been out.Comment
