I'm going to either then find a time to see it with them tonight, or I'm going to wait until I go home for the summer, mainly because I have finals starting this week and ending next week, and I won't really have too much time to see it.

I also want to see it in an IMAX theater now, so I figure it would be best if I wait a couple of weeks anyway.

I'm just wondering what kind of movie I'm walking into, because I've seen many movies where a lot of people were disappointed and I loved it, and vice-versa. I'm also just wondering what group I should bring... if my little sister would be happy seeing this movie, or maybe some of my friends instead.
    Just watch the movie man.

I guess if you're satisfied by just special effects and action scenes, the movie is more than worth seeing.

But if you dont like complete and utter cheeziness, too many underdeveloped story lines, and a lack luster ending, it's really a bad movie.

The first two didn't have NEARLY this much cheesiness, they stuck to a story line that let characters actually develop and they had definitive endings.

Damn, you make it sound like Spiderman smacked your mama.

Anyway, it was a great popcorn movie. Just remember: it is a movie based on a comic book. Remember that and you will have fun.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol... it did smack my wallet.

I know it's based on a comic book. But so were the first 2 and I thoroughly enjoyed those. And I dont believe that I expected too much from the movie. I really didn't read too much into it or watch any trailers or anything. I just saw what was on TV and I read a bit of a preview.

I'm not one that is entertained by pure action and special effects. I want to see a good story. Anyone can put together a good action scene and amazing special effects are becomming a dime a dozen. It's a good story with good character development and good acting that is hard to pull off.

Good but not great. I think this series has paralleled the X-Men movie series to a T. Excellent first and second films, but both of the third films were really let down by the script.

I read a interview a couple of days ago with director/screenwriter Sam Rami, and it seems as if he had to have his arm twisted by the producers to include Venom. It shows on the screen. I think its time for a hiatus and then a fresh restart several years from now with a whole new cast/crew a la Batman Begins.

I was disappointed too after really enjoying the first two movies. So much is was thrown it and made the movie feel cluttered and rushed...almost doesn't even go along with the storyline of the comic.

Yeah, I agree. The question now is who will be cast as the new Spiderman do you guys think? Nicholas Cage? LOL...j/k..

Dissapointing, but still glad that i saw it. I liked it, it just had some moments of WTF and too many characters and storylines. THe first two were definatly better.

to me, Tobey Maguire is Spiderman... I mean with Batman you constantly had him being a new actor, but with Spidey, Tobey has been the only guy to play him... and that's the way it should stay.

Technically you're right but let's be realistic, if he wants to come back then he will be back. The only way he isn't is if they go in a completely different direction with the character. Considering the money the franchise has made I seriously doubt that would be the case. This isn't like Batman where the franchise is suffering and needs to be rebooted.

Just saw it and liked the fight scenes, but the convolutions were too numerous. The "birth" of Sandman was well done.

I thought Spider-man 1 was really cheesy. Spider-man 2 was MUCH better, IMHO. And I think it was easily the best of the trilogy. Spider-man 3 wasn't that bad, but it wasn't great. It was enjoyable and I'd see it again, but it didn't give you much of a chance to connect to the characters. It had good action sequences, but when I saw it, I just thought it was rather empty of emotion.
