Should have. But they didn't but I hope all is not lost with Venom. Maybe somewhere someone can think of an idea that makes sense to bring him if they make a fourth one.

They could do the jail idea but that might be confusing to some.

Wonder if we will see Carnage in a movie, and maybe one day Toxin for that matter.

Also anyone feel Kristen Dunst is getting old? I just see no connection with her and her acting has gone down since the first one.

Kirsten Dunst is still that little demon looking kid from Interview with a Vampire. Unfortunately for us all, her acting hasn't gotten any better since those days either.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mentioned this to my wife on the way home from the theatre this weekend, and knowing nothing of the comic she didn't even realize he only had one arm!

She was not a big fan of Spidey 3 overall... again being someone who didn't read any of the comics, the story felt "thrown together" to her. She really enjoyed the first two movies, but found the whole Eddie Brock story line kind of tacked on. When I said the name Venom she didn't even know what I was talking about! Just thought it was interesting to get the casual viewers response to the film.

            Spoiler Alert!

Question for all the comic book experts:

How did Venom get his powers as a spider? We know Peter gets bit by the genetic spider but does that happen to Venom? In the movie the black alien stuff falls on him and that's how he gets his powers but that doesn't make sense to me? I thought the stuff just brought out you aggression. Also why does he have fangs when he takes off the mask?

fangs i can't explain, but the symbiote when it was on peter took all of his ablities also, such as the agility the webbing and such and pratically enhances it, but when it left peter it took the powers and ablities with it and put it on its new host

                Here's my best guess:

I believe the symbiote contains all of Peter's memories, life experiences, etc. when it moves to Brock. That's how he can make the comment about his spidey sense tingling because he would have had no knowledge of a "spidey sense"... doesn't really explain the fangs though, can't help you there.

EDIT: Looks like I was beaten to the punch.

I actually think she was a much better actor as a child. She's brutal now, and hideous to boot. How she still gets jobs in Hollywood is beyond me. With those two teeth protruding from her yap she looks like a "Daywalker" more than an actress.

Exactly. The symbiote copys it's host's DNA. That's why Brock had spidey powers as well when he merged with it. Brock's hate for Spider-Man/Peter Parker showed in Venom's appearance. That's why we saw him as monster with fangs, etc.

Topher Grace wanted something that involved Carnage in this movie, but Raimi didn't allow it, so maybe in the next film we'll see him.

Venom was just poorly established and developed. That's all there is to it.

I actually don't want Venom or Carnage to be in the next film at all. Actually, I'd be happy if that was the last Spiderman movie.
