Eh. I will never fully embrace digital distribution of anything. I like have a hard copy lying around.

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
You aren't the only one. I never played a DVD on my Xbox, 360, PS2 or any other console. I preferred standalone players as well.....until the PS3. I even bought a Toshiba A3 HD-DVD player instead of the 360 add-on.
The Blu-Ray players are too expensive right now so I opted for playing Blu-Ray's on my PS3. It's actually a pretty darn good player as well. Even better when considering the price as compared to standalone Blu-Ray players.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
It's going to be very interesting when the high-def DVD format war ends and the attention shifts back to the consoles. All of a sudden the PS3 has all the sports games that the 360 does, it has a few near-system selling exclusive titles (The Show and Uncharted), and it's looking like a better all-in-one multimedia system than the 360 right now.
If I were Sony, I'd spend every last dollar building something to compete with Xbox Live. If they had a competitive online service, even if people had to pay for it like they have to pay for XBL, they would eliminate most people's only reason for choosing the 360 over the PS3 for gaming.
And that's not even discussing the hardware reliability of both consoles....
And Mass Effect...
And Halo....
And about 10000 other titles that are either exclusive to 360 or better than the stuff on PS3.

Mass Effect...WHO CARES!!
Halo.....REALLY SUCKS!!
Give the PS3 time, the games will be better than the 360.
And yes Xbox is not going anywhere, and that includes into the next generation of gaming.

Wow, very mature reply. You certainly dont come across as some PS3 fanboy at all, I would be shocked if your take was the same back when the PS3 had nothing to play on it except the inferior sports games.Comment

I was one of those people, and I think it is better they did because it saved face for both Universal and Paramount. If either of those 2 left first, they would have looked like the bad guys that killed HD DVD.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
I guess now Microsoft will come crawling to Sony so they can use blu-ray and that means more coin for Sony. Early on alot of media people said blu-ray would kill the PS3 because of it's price and that people want to play games not movies oh how wrong they were. Too many people think in the now where Sony looked ahead and planned for the future. Sony had faith in their format where Microsoft didn't and that was the difference."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment
