I'm not one of those people that think we should go back to the stone age however I do think that there needs to be a change over from the fossil fuel economy to a more "green" based one.

A lot of those in power like to push fear down our throats and tell us how changing over from fossil fuels to something like electric or hybrid fuel is impossible to do when Brazil is 98% bio fuel efficient right now. In fact within a couple years Brazil will have ZERO need for oil. So changing the economy will not be easy but it's not a catastrophe either unless you start the change at the very last second then there'll be tons of problems.

I don't know if saying hybrids are impossible when i see them each and everyday driving down the road perfectly fine.

At the same time, I'd say the media is one major cause of the "scare" stories than anything else. I'd be all for changing from oil simply because the people in charge are selfish and could care less about the responsibility of their dominion.

Uh I don't have an agenda, I just thought it was interesting.

You're right, YOU thought it was interesting.

By that it's definitely an agenda, especially knowing it's content that isn't allowed here, and can get the thread closed.

I skimmed over Kodiak33's link and honestly, I don't see that much wrong with it. It seemed more informational IMO than having an agenda.

EDIT - While I didn't read the entire article, I think KDRE_OS is saying a lot of the same things as the article was. Maybe I missed a few sections though.

What I'm saying is, don't post anything percieved or is political in here. I think there has been a warning already and the thread has been alright. We should continue going on without it needing to be locked.

Sorry if it sounded harsh or personal Kodiak. My sincere apologies.

they wont need oil for many of their cars (although, their cars wont be 100 percent bio fuel efficient. they will still have plenty of vehicles that need oil)

but even without talking about vehicles, Brazil will still need oil for other things. The technology is not there yet for an industrialized country to be able to function entirely without oil, especially one the size of Brazil

btw, global warming is a myth

no offense, but i think people employed by current energy leaders would be a little biased on this issue.

He doesn't. But he hasn't said anything to back up his point. I've got a whole book here and a movie of Gore backing his up. And he does it well... If you're going to call it BS - at least give decent reasons as to why it's BS - instead of just being: "liek omgz it's teh haxxors faek. he's teh faek and unrealz"... Because that's pretty much all I've seen so far. No one giving back up as to why they think it's fake.

                              Lets see here.

These scientists believe there was an ice age. So, for there to no longer be an ice age, the overall climate would have had to increase to melt all the ice. So that means that Global Warming had to occur in the past. But wait, there weren't cars back then, cavemen weren't buring oil just for the fun of it, or maybe it was gas of the animals. So who cause Global warming back then?

Face it, when it comes to weather, scientists have no clue what happen in history. They can't go back and study what the climate did over hundreds of years. I'm not a scientist, but I can cleary see they are working with an incomplete set of data.

This post is correct. How do we know what really happened thousands of years ago? We can pretend all day long that our methods and procedures allow us to know what happened, but seriously how do we know that's accurate?
