Edit: aaron, here you go

Make sure your favorites list has CN hd selected. Or perhaps you have to press up to get the hd channels. Right now i beleive the regular h20 recievers default to sd first, then hd is one up. New software fixes this.
EDIT: also, hd info might not be populated yet, so give it about 24 hours.Last edited by Bacardi151; 10-15-2007, 04:33 PM.Comment

I'm only seeing one CN channel, not one SD and one HD like some of the others. Going to reset my receiver and see if that changes anything. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

D* is not responsible for the content that a channel shows, so all they can do is provide the feed. Alot of channels start of slow, but then start providing the content in hd. Others have a mix, and looks pretty damn good. premium channels look fantastic in hd compared to their sd counterpart.
TBS seems to stretch alot of their non-hd content, but they are getting better. Watching some of the final brave games in hd looked real good.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

VOD is coming to d*. if you are interested in getting on the CE ( cutting edge) program, then you need to visit the dbstalk.com forums.
The last few software updates has allowed you to begin getting VOD feeds thru your network. So you plug in the cat5 cable to the back of your reciever ( if it supports it) and you can check out all the VOD content.
Again though, you need to update the software your receiver is running. Usually the window of opportunity to do this is friday and saturday nights for a couple of hours when the announcements are made. Eventually those updates you get will go national, so you are basically a guinea pig; havent had a problem with a receiver ending up not functioning, and you can always rollback.
Thanks man. I'll go to the website and do some more research. VOD would be pretty damn useful with DTV.Comment

I understand that, however I have no patience for upconverted HD Lite signals...even less for stretch-o-vision like TBS and TNT. I have Dish and we don't have Speed yet, but it looks like I'm not missing out on anything if Speed isn't going to start broadcasting in HD from the source until February.
I have heard that 'hd-lite' term but not sure what it is referring to. perhaps the same thing i just wrote?Last edited by Bacardi151; 10-15-2007, 04:41 PM.Comment

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
Do they offer MSG in HD yet?
I'm pretty close to switching to DTV, but I've done some research online and their customer service seems absolutely horrific. This seems worse than cell phone contracts too. I've read that if a piece of your equipment breaks they send you a new one but it starts a new two-year agreement, that's ridiculous!
What if I get the service installed (which I've read can be a helluva adventure) and it absolutely blows? Bad reception, drops the signal a ton, etc? I'm just screwed for two years? They charge $70.00 a visit by a repair tech, eff that.
I pretty much hate Comcast, but damn these seem like some really scary stories w. DTV."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
My family was all set up to get DTV but the day it was supposed to be installed the guy didn't show up to install it because it was raining. We called them and the guy said he would be here the next day. Then the next day he never showed up. He never called us to tell us he wasn't coming, he just didn't show up. We ended up calling DTV customer service to talk to them and all they said was "were sorry". So we never got it because the customer service we got sucked.Comment
