Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
Alright, I officially ordered DTV last night. I used the Big Ten Network promotional code to get a pretty good deal.
- Free HD Receiver Upgrade
- Sports Package included
- $100 cash back
- $10 off/mo for 3 months
- Free portable DVD player
- Free 1-yr Protection Plan
- All premium channels free for one month
For $53/mo for the first three months, $63 after that.
My biggest complaint is that the first available installation appointment is November 19th! That's almost a month away, amazing!
After waiting that long for it I better not experience any of these installation nightmares I've read about."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
There is an NHL Network preview now, and was wondering if it's sorta like an nba tv basically, I can't wait for it to be added, it said coming soon, I was wondering if it will be a sports package channel, or what, I don't care as long as it's not like only way to get it is with NHL center ice, because I get alot of games with the blues and blackhawks, and Verses, and I already get NBA LEAGUE PASS, MLB EXTRA INNINGS AND NFL SUNDAY TICKET. I don't understand why it says coming soon, if they are showing a sneek preview.Comment

Saw the following this morning over at AVS:
Looks like the NHL Network HD channel will be up soon. There is a message for it on 215 now saying it is coming soon.
Also, my guide is showing 648-1 as FSN Midwest Alternate HD, 639-1 as FSN Houston HD and 218-1 and 219-1 as the Big Ten Alternate HD channels. I don't think we had any of those until recently.Comment

My parents are looking to finally get HD and I looked at DishHD, they have dish, and they charge $20 per month, plus they live in the south so they would have to get another dish. Directv looks like a lot better option at $10 and a lot more channels.Comment

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
For clarification from anyone here who may already know the answer to my question, I received a pamphlet from Directv about the additional fees for HD and how they are splitting things up into tiers. It mentions that there are different tiers, Choice, Choice Xtra, Premier, Sports Pack HD and Directv HD Extra Pack, now if I already have the Premier package am I going to be getting everything besides whats included in the Extra Pack anyways? I dont want to have to fork out more money so I can get the Sports Pack HD package, has anyone heard anything specific about this yet?
EDIT- I found my answer, I must have overlooked it, the lineup they are charging extra for doesnt effect me at all so Im not too concerned.Last edited by The Chef; 10-28-2007, 02:33 AM.Comment

Re: 20-40 HD Channels BY Sept 16th (DTV)
As of today, NBA TV HD was added. It's simulcast on channel 601. FYI for those who don't know, Similar to how its done for NHL Extra Ice, the NBA League Pass will also have HD games. Those will be on the -1 channel next to the main one. (IE if the Pacers-Sixers is on 751, then the HD feed, if there is one, will be on 751-1).Last edited by TreyFury97; 10-30-2007, 12:39 PM. I have an HDTV, and I still don't have an HD signal. Probably won't for a long time.
I've seen all the comparisons between HD and regular - and HD doesn't look that much better to me at all. In fact, if you put them side by side and asked me which was which, I would be guessing - because I really can't see it.Comment

I'll have the standard def channel picked on my cable, swap between that and the HD, and there is such a difference.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
