Finished Season 2. I think it's just as good as Season 1, maybe better as far as plot and acting, but definitely not as enjoyable a watch. I read through the first 200 posts (dipping out when I saw certain names to avoid spoilers) and it seems like there's a lot to catch on a re-watch. I can believe that, they definitely had me dozing at points.

The episode opening with the shootout after Bodie took the corner from those guys, my little brother was in the room. You know when you're watching a show with a gunfire, and it's exciting. Man lemme tell you, when that woman started searching through her house you could just feel the energy change. That's one of the things I appreciate most, it doesn't glamorize what it's portraying. It just is what it is.

McNulty undercover trying to sink the brothel was hilarious. Bunk is my favorite cop.

Frank Sobotka was going through some ****, him I feel for. I cannot stand Ziggy. Nick I'm kinda neutral on but lean toward not liking because of his... word choice.

Omar is wild, and Brother Mouzzone shooting Method Man killed me. I can't wait to see where this goes.

"Do the chair know we gon look like some punk *** bitches out there?"

Curious to see how the Stringer-Avon stuff plays out. Marlo time.

It still blows my mind Nick Sobotka and Pornstache from Orange is the New Black is the same actor.

But yeah - this is one of the most rewarding shows to watch rewatch.

3 seasons into season 4, marathonned 3 this weekend, 20 episodes left in the series.

Darth Marlo randomly debuting in the background of The Bubbles and Johnny Chronicles was awesome. Don't even know who he is, and a life is gonna be spared/taken based on the fact that he has somewhere to go and it has to be done now. Dude is something else.

Clay Davis is genius.

RIP Stringer (and Hamsterdam). The stuff between him and Avon definitely didn't play out as I expected it to, but it was amazing. Him trying to put a hit on Clay Davis, Avon basically telling him he's gotta pick one game or the other, can't mix the two. And he ended up getting killed over revenge for something he was trying to separate himself from. He did get played though, I love Avon man. Dude tried to tell him. I also never was a huge Stringer guy. His apartment though... Wow, I need that.

Also poetic the way he was finally caught, and never found out. McNulty was obsessed with arresting this dude, and never got the chance. The whole season was put together really well top to bottom. Avon setting up Stringer for Omar and Brother Mouzone, and Stringer setting Avon up with the police. They tried to be loyal to each other but were more loyal to their business. Stringer broke the rules of the game, had to die for it. Avon was getting in the way of growing away from the game, he had to get put away. Whatever one thinks of the idea of Hamsterdam, it set the image in perfectly when it gets shut down and everything just goes back to the way it was.

Also I cannot stand McNulty. And then to start season 4 he's playing house with Beadie? What is going on? Lol

Pres as a teacher? This'll be something. I like that he told the principal he was a cop and they thought, surely this will be a good thing.

Gearing up for tragedy to hit every character I like, the HBO trademark.

One of my favorite scenes is when he was talking to Fruit about his numbers being down. “You know when I was on the corner and my numbers were down, I damn sure did something about it”.

Also, when Avon tried to set him up by using one of his girls and yet he still didn’t fall for the trap that Avon set up for him.

My favorite Marlo scene is when Bodie goes to talk to him, he ignores him for like 45 seconds while swinging a golf club over his head and just says "Ima need you to pack up your peoples. I'm being a gentleman about it for now." I was like uhhh Bodie get the hell outta there. Guy is playing zero games.

The Devonne setup was crazy. Got them cause they ordered 4 meals, crept up and just let the shotgun off, damn near killed Avon. At that point I was like why doesn't this man just sit back and let his guys do the work, but I guess that's kinda the point. This is what he got in this for.

Slim Charles is just out here trying to make it. I know the entire show is a political statement to some extent but it really hits when Avon wanted to talk to Marlo and Slim says something like "even if we go to war over a lie, we fight on that lie, and we gotta fight." Players can change, but the game says the same. Love Stringer tells him to take out Clay Davis and he's like "See murder is one thing but this is some assassination ****". Dude said I might not be taking community college classes but I know some stupid **** when I see it. His reaction to the Omar Sunday truce incident was hilarious.

Never did I think I'd see someone like Marlo during the show, Avon and Stringer would do what's necessary, but Marlo and his crew took it to another level.

What's funny is Chris said he was originally cast as some other member, like a courthouse staff person, and eventually landed in the role to be Marlo's main muscle.

That's good casting. A bit off topic but he adds so much as Larry Brown in The Deuce. Guy needs more roles.
