I've been wondering where you and Burns were because you both haven't said anything about that episode.

I really didn't have much to say, the Inception ripoff turned me off enough that I didn't really watch very intently.

We lost you, it seems. It was a good run, Burns.

I can't wait for the finale. I really like where they're taking this. Fringe keeps getting weirder and weirder and I'm enjoying it.

LOL, no. I didn't stop watching Fringe, that episode was just lost on me. The whole Bellivia storyline was a little too ridiculous for me, but now that we are past that I'm fine.

ok i finally caught up. I think the one good thing about the friday slot is that they can really go Sci-fi now, yet still keep it in reality somewhat if that makes sense.

and WTF with last weeks ending. Not where i thought things would go.

Still hasn't answered who that guy was in the dreamworld though. Seems like that's a story setting up for next year unless it plays into the finale someway which i doubt.

Man, I am really mixed on the last episode. It felt like a first-time Fringe writer wrote the script and the concept.

From chasing artifacts to Olivia being in the drawing of an ancient scroll, it was almost like someone just finished watching Alias and thought it'd be a good idea to throw that in.

It really went away from what I liked about Fringe - the science fiction aspect. Instead it's becoming about destiny or fate which is what I thought was supposed to not be in this series considering the ideologies were drenched in Alias and Lost.

But I guess I just have to accept that JJ can't create a series that moves away from his philosophy on personal discovery.

The ending with Peter Bishop was cool but I really really thought they'd just stick with dimension jumping. Do not like the idea of time travel.

I'm not sure why, they have already done both, with them searching for the buried pieces of the machine and the drawings of Peter in the machine.

Agreed on the time travel, unless they use it just the once as a kind of warning, regular time travel seems to lead to sloppy writing.

The buried pieces of the machine was already pushing me toward the "Not this again" mode. Looking for a key to shut down the machine in artifacts that were in a museum, just made me think "This is the same storyline from Alias."

I had always assumed Peter was drawn in by Walternate, but I probably misunderstood that. When I saw Olivia drawn in, that's when I realized that Peter was destined to operate the machine. It didn't connect with me previously.

                      Re: Fringe anyone?

Time travel always leads to bad precedents. See Heroes. Actually in just about all media time travel leads to bad things. I've seen too many comic stories have to be retconned because of bad time travel decisions, and comics have more leeway in the story telling department.

I mean we're all jumping the gun, but who knows whats going on. They might even just keep the show in the future, though i don't know what i think about that yet.

I honestly have no idea what to think, but it doesn't leave with an awesome feeling going forward. Peter gone and all these actors playing 2 parts in a single room..... not a great turn. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not feeling it as a season finale, sure I am curious about what the hell is going on, but I'm not sure I want to know.

Anyway, I noticed some odd things during the title sequence, I looked closely because I wanted to see the little fringe science things and among things like brain porting, clonal transplantation and cryptozoology they had water and hope. Hope I kind of get, but water?

I'm sort of the same way. When I saw the end my reaction was simply "Wait what? oh well better wait until next season". I don't think it was necessarily bad it just left me kind of confused about what exactly was going on and where they're going to go with this. I've also never thought about a peter-less fringe but I'm sure they'll bring him back somehow

I feel just the opposite, I think it was an outstanding finale, and quite possibly my favorite episode of the series. Different strokes for different folks.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I try not to think to hard when it comes to Fringe. I won't even try to make sense of all of this, I'll just wait for next season.
