Yes, there has to be an explanation. The writers are too creative to write themselves into a corner and decide the only way to save the Losties is to have Desmond randomly remember a Faraday memory in the middle of a dream 15 years later, even though that goes against the entire principal of the show.

And I believe the energy release made Desmond special, that is when he started to see Charlie's future. Mikhail and Ethan were special, as is Miles and Richard. There has to be a link between the energy release on the island and these 5 people.

Does anyone know if the LOST: Journey Through Time episode before the finale tomorrow will show never-before seen footage?

Didn't we only have a recap show like 2 weeks ago?

Yeah they always have a recap show before the finale.

Season 5 has been a head-spinner for me. The time travel thing has gotten so crazy and wild that I can't even theorize on what's going to happen on the show any more - which was a a huge part of the entertainment of watching Lost the last five years. Hopefully when it comes out on DVD and I can watch all the episodes in succession it will be better but S5 has been pretty blah for me.

          Probably not.

I'm going to miss it because of a work dinner, I wanted to watch it live, but now I'll probably watch on Friday without the commercials.

While I am still a Lost fanatic, I think season 5 might be the weakest of the five.
It feels like the producers really don't know what they're doing half the time.
Killing off Faraday just seems stupid and pointless.
All that said, I still love the show.
I just think Season 5 is weak, by previous standards. Every other season seemed to have a real purpose.

Lost season 1 may be may favourite season of any TV show at any time - period. I was hooked like a crack addict.

Season 2 was worse 20 hours of dead ends and filler. This season is pretty decent, but it seems hap hazard.

The whole Sayid "I'm a trained assassin bred to kill" taking 1 pot shot in the dark with 1 hand on the gun from 30 feet away at Young Ben, assuming he's dead and then skipping off into the jungle was silly. Then they say the Temple erased all of Ben's memory. That was just some Terrible writing and not very well thought out.

There is a million and 1 things they could have done to injure Ben and have him turned over to the Hostiles. That was just bad.

IIRC, they never said it would erase all of his memories. He just wouldn't remember the shooting incident.

                  Even worse....

That whole fiasco just seemed cobbled together and not well thought out.

Anyway, the finale is supposed to be a double cliff hanger. Supposed to have us chomping at the bit for the final season.

I can't believe we're at the season finale already.

As many of you know I've been rewatching Lost. I'm currently halfway through season 3 and I realized that I hate Kate a lot more than Jack. Even though I already knew what was going to happen, I kept hoping that somehow she'd get killed off the show lol.

I'm not going to jump to that conclusion until more plays out. Lost has been known to give bits and pieces that make everyone scream, "That doesn't make sense!" only for them to give us the entire story later in the series.

IMO, Rule #1 for Lost is be patient.

yeah Ive got to agree there. Its sometimes hard because I started watching the show in the middle of season 4. I watched seasons 1-3 and then half of 4 via xbox live then I just caught up with the normal airing. It took me like a week or 2 to watch all. Its much different now though Ive got to say.

The show tells its stories very slowly. Like when I watched seasons 1-3 I had answers given rather quickly but if I was just a regular dude watching the show, the answer I got in a day, actually took like 3 years, so now when I watch the show I cant assume I will get the answer to stuff right away.

The only thing thats a bit different now is that we are entering the last season which will wrap stuff up quicker than the rest of the show.

Kate has really gotten to me this season, no Jack we need to save ben! he's a kid blah blah blah...no Jack after 4+ seasons of doing so, I won't blindly follow you as you try to change the future. Please give me a break, I wouldn't lose any sleep if they killed her off.

My wild card is Sun. Didn't locke say something to ben about not really helping her reunite with Jin? Maybe she'll do something to try to bring down Locke as a leader once she realizes this, and locke will off her.

Although it will probably be whichever main character jacob ends up being that dies.

                                From Michael Emerson (Ben):

Ours is a show that specializes in big shock endings, but I think season five...None of the other shock endings left me wondering how the show goes on. We have two kinds of huge shocks at the end of this one. Each one alone would be enough to keep an audience eating its own soul for the whole hiatus, but with two, I don't know what you can do with that.

Wow! T-minus twelve hours and counting...
