Warrior - Not that it had a lot of competition, but this is the best mma-themed movie there is. Nick Nolte did an awesome job, and the story held my interest all the way through. I thought the way the tournament went down was kind of inplausible in more ways than one, but it didn't take anything away from the movie though. 8.0

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - I didn't think I'd like this one all that much, but it was a solid movie. If we had to worry about Apes like this we'd be ****ed lol. 7.5

      Hostel III

I saw the trailer for this in front of Straw Dogs...

      0 likeable characters.
      Major plot hole.
      Plot point left unresolved.
Decent plot twist...that gets erased in about 2 minutes.
Kills were nowhere neat as I hoped.
Thought "hey at least the ending can be put on the -rare list I won't spoil-" but instead is on the very common -this went on one scene too long list-.

Also I asked where the blu-ray was and was told the studio cancelled it. The first thing when you put it in says something like "hey you with the hdtv, why are you still watching dvds?"

Warrior. Not a big MMA fan, but I really enjoyed the movie. Great acting, pacing and character development. Looking forward to the blu ray release.

The Adventures of TinTin in 3d......I really enjoyed it. My view of the movie may be clouded though. I took the day off of work yesterday to spend with my young daughter. We headed out for a 12:45 show and we were the only people in the theatre. I was shocked. My daughter thought that I had paid for her own private screening. She loved it.

Identity. It was on HBO, it was entertaining. Seems like this has been done before, but it was worth watching.

That was the exact same (and only) issue I had with the movie. Otherwise it was one of my favorite Sports-related movies ever.

DVD. Blockbuster Express kiosk rental. Blu ray wasn't available.

And I'm a bit of a cheapskate....waiting for it drop down to $13 or under.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Big fan. Gives the background stories of several important/popular MK characters. The "movies" for Rayden and Scorpion were the best, IMO.

                  Scrooged.

And now... I have to kill ALL of you.

The segment with Carol Kane is still one of the best comedic interplays you can get in a movie. Cannot believe she didn't do more.

                    The Double

It wasn't the worst film that I've ever seen, since the cast kind of helps bump the atmosphere a little bit more (Gere, Grace, Sheen, Yustman), but given its 2:25 run time, you don't get much time with them in general.

The twist is a bit of a wonky one that only a movie can pull off, but it's a surprise nonetheless. The film is pretty upbeat in nature with its many cuts and edits, as well as music pumping throughout... but it still remains dark in tone, which is a good balance for an edge-of-your-seat thriller such as this one. Unfortunately, the story still isn't strong enough for you to love it quite enough.

Crazy, Stupid, Love. A pretty good almost "over-the-top" romantic comedy. This was a blind buy and it exceeded my expectations. You can't go wrong with a flick that has Emma Stone in it.

Drunken Master. Loved it. That is all.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Just finished Warrior myself several minutes ago and I have to say AWESOME movie. I knew it was going to be awesome, but didn't have the interest of watching it. Very happy I did tonight.

Acting was great, story was good and the cinematography for the fights were pretty good. I don't watch MMA and this movie reinforced that notion (men beating themselves up in a cage until one passes) not a very fun activity.

Tom Hardy, can't wait for Batman now!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was on TV. It was alright. Confusing ending but otherwise, decent enough. I liked how he wouldn't tolerate the .3 blue shift.

Great under the radar movie. Gave a great look at the politics of max security prisons.

And the overall message, although sinister, was pretty awesome and badass.
