The general American public and the general international public dont have wildly varying tastes when it comes to movies.

Image spoilered for length. That is domestic box office numbers. In order:
Year (obviously), total gross (in millions), change, tickets sold, change, # of movies, total screens, Avg. Ticket Price, Avg. Cost and #1 movie of the year.

As far as top movies go? I'd say there's hardly an original work on there.

Finally got around to seeing The Revenant. Cool flick, but one I probably would never watch again.

Watched Ant-Man earlier this morning. Didn't know anything about Ant-Man besides the names of the 2 guys that have portrayed him Pym and Lang and his sidekick/partner was The Wasp. Thought it was good. Definitely not the best Marvel movie that came out. But not the worst. It definitely had some funny moments like Hank using the tank to escape from the lab. And when Scott brings his buddies to Hank's house to work out their plan to destroy the YellowJacket suit was pretty funny. All in all good movie but in no real rush to see it again like CA:WS (my favorite Marvel movie and 2nd favorite superhero movie of all time [first being TDK]).

I think Ant-Man was a great change of pace comic book movie. Most movies in this subgenre take themselves so seriously and go with the whiz-bang action without having some kind of self awareness. Ant-Man and Deadpool are two movies that took the comic book movie concept and turned it on its head by being comedic and not taking it into a dark place like most of these flicks do.

If you can get a movie with that kind of sensibility every once in a while it'll keep people from totally burning out on the subgenre.

Yea the comedy in those movies was definitely a great change of pace.

If your a Purge fan the new film delivers the goods!!!

Crazy stuff in Election Year and an intense film yet again. They have done a great job of giving each film a unique feel and story.

The original is on TV tonight, recording it because the new one looks good. What am in for, without giving it away. I know the basic premise is that there is no laws or anything for one night.

Comcast had a bunch of the original Disney channel movies on demand. Stuff me and my younger brothers watched as kids, like Brink, Smart House, Johnny Tsunami, Halloween Town and etc.

                      Halloween Town is still good

I feel old reading, "younger brother and I watched as kids" seeing the content... even though I don't look it, I am starting to have an epiphany recently (the past month or so)... goodness!

Funny you mention that, I recorded all of those when they aired at the end of May for the weekend, but I had just noticed that DirecTV had them all On Demand until 9/5. So I literally just typed them all down (in recorded order) and deleted them all from my DVR.

Here's what I recorded from the list:

                          Phantom of the Megaplex

Wow, even those came just a little past my time of "peak watching", I still know them, and man, makes me feel even older. Sad part is, I get mistaken for 25-28 all the time, and I am much older by a decade or so... that reality is setting in, 'time relativity' and all that. Just enjoy every second, and enjoy each others' company, fam.

Central Intelligence. It's too bad some of the funniest moments are brought up in a trailer for these types of movies. There were some good yuks here and there. I'm not a real big fan of either actor, but it was a decent enough story to keep me bought in.
