I fall asleep during movies all the time. I usually watch them when I'm zoned out and laying down on the couch or bed. Even if it's good, sometimes that sleep just calls me.Comment

The Hangover - Loved it. Especially Zack Galifinakis or however you spell it. Every single line he uttered during this movie had me laughing. Lots of hype going in to this one, I felt it lived up to it. Any movie where a tiger could realistically deserve a supporting actor credit is always good.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I watched the Hangover the other day too. The previews cracked me up, but I didn't think that the actual film was all that great. I generally don't like most comedy movies though.Comment

Watched the movie last nite, and whoa the cinematography was amazing, however the story left to be desired. The story was jumpy and it lacked any detail.
I feel like it could of had so much potential, but it's almost as if they lost the will to continue a story and focused on action. A lot was unexplained. It was beautiful visually though

Law Abiding Citizen- 9.0
The movie speaks for itself. I was awed throughout the entire movie. Really felt the heart break Butler's character went through, but also saw why Foxx did what he did. Truly an awesome movie. Too bad it came out at a bad time, it's triple A movie.Comment

Star Trek
Got the Blu-ray, and I was thoroughly impressed. It wasn't a huge action movie and that was completely okay with me. As a person that was absolutely not a fan of Star Trek, I'm a huge fan of J.J. Abrams and his work and had total faith in him. He was great to casual moviegoers who otherwise wouldn't give this movie a chance, and I'm glad he did. Though, it still wasn't completely explanatory on a few fronts where there were inhuman beings on our planet in the future, so perhaps someone could clear that up for me?
Anyway, I'll desperately be awaiting a sequel. Only hopefully next time the villain's motives and character intricacies are more spelled out, because Nero wasn't very developed overall. Not quite to Joker status, but maybe a little more so that we are understanding our target by more than an explanation from someone else. Not to say this was a weak point of the first film as this seemed to be much more about Kirk and Spock, which was great all the same.
Excellent cinematography and space atmosphere, I was completely immersed. Being a reference Blu-ray definitely helped. My dad and little sister both enjoyed it, and I was very pleased myself.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I was watching some of the Sherlock Holmes movies on TCM last night. It's a shame that the audience for the Hammer Studios didn't take to their treatment of Holmes as I thought Peter Cushing was quite good as the master sleuth. They took some great liberties with The Hound of the Baskervilles but it was done that way to take advantage of the colorful and endearing Hammer horror aspects.
Still for my money Basil Rathbone IS Sherlock Holmes. I will eventually see Robert Downey Jr's version but everything i've seen relating to it just makes Holmes seem like some action hero rather then the brilliant mind that he has been portrayed through the years. Hopefully there are quieter scenes in the new movie where Downey gets to be cerebral in the role instead of some jacked up action star.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
