The entire final 40 minutes or so (from when the webcast starts on) I just sat there in slack-jawed amazement. I liked it before then, and after those 40 minutes I LOVED it.

I may watch it again tonight.

Last movie I watched as well and I had the same feelings. Definitely have to go buy it when I get the chance (RedBox the 1st time).

        Children of Men.

Supposed to be one of those apocalypse movies. The human is race is going to die out due to unexplained global infertility. It had an interesting premise, but everything seemed disjointed. I thought the style in which it was shot was aesthetically pleasing, but the sequence of events overall left me underwhelmed. I honestly thought it was more of a comedy than a drama... intended comedy, mind you, but those comic relief moments were the scenes that elicited the most emotional response from me.

The movie observed how one might react individually and as a society in the face of extinction. These types of movies are supposed to shock you and/or move you. I felt that there were several scenes that tried to accomplish that, with exceptional effort, but nothing that made my jaw drop or bring me to tears, which I would want in a 93% RT rated and 8.1 IMDB rated movie. I might have to give it another watch, but my initial impression was that Clive Owen just couldn't pull off the emotion needed in those scenes.

          Serenity

So I've been watching Firefly (again) and finished up with Serenity last night (again). It is a great movie and a nice way to close the series. I've always thought the bounty hunter from Objects in Space and the operative in Serenity were very similar as far as characters go, but the operative is obviously more badass and cunning. Like the series, the movie's mix of comedy, action, and dramatic elements was great. It still sucks watching

die, especially since I think its only there for that "oh snap" factor instead of adding anything to the movie, but maybe I'm biased because that character was one of my favorites from the show.

          Kaylee = mmm yeah.

I love the TS movies and will be buying this one on BR when it comes out to add to the other two in the collection.
Awesome movie, saw it myself not too long ago. To me, the series ranks as 3-1-2. This one was awesome in every way. I think its because it had a villain which the first 2 didn't movies didn't.

Really? The first two had human villains.

Your right, the kid in the first one was a villain, but he didn't come into play until the last half of the movie; however because they don't move or talk around humans, it nullifies their ability to interact with the villain.

The guy in 2 i don't even count as a villain but a de-rang nerd.

Yeah number 3 was fantastic. I rank it 1-3-2 in terms of my favorites but they are really well done and it's nice to have movies that everyone in the family can enjoy together.

Finally saw Get Him To The Greek. Very very funny. Really enjoyed P. Diddy in this.

I like this kind brand of comedy. Funny People is similar.

Tekken-7.0 Solid movie. It started out rather poor but the combat from the tournament made it rather interesting. Story was predictable and sad but it did a decent job of overlaying the happening of Tekken 3 basically.

The Other Guys - really funny I thought and Will Ferrel movies aren't usually my thing, but I thought this one was good. A lot of funny bits in there and Michael Keaton needs more comedy roles.

12 Rounds staring pro wrestler John Cena.

I have to admit the first time my wife and I tried to watch this we both fell asleep. We were both pretty tired and it was late so that's not really the movies fault. After watching it a second time with both enjoyed it. It wasn't amazing or anything but Cena was ok and the story was passable as well (kind of a watered down Die Hard with a vengence remake imo).

My wife did raise an interesting point: why would you cast a massive muscular guy like Cena in an action movie and not have him take his shirt off or at least wear a singlet throughout the entire movie. I wasn't too concerned but my wife didn't appreciate it. To her it was kinda like putting Jessica Alba in a movie and not having at least one gratuitous *** shot. Was this Cena's way of trying to become a 'serious' actor?
