During the first 30 minutes or so, I actually hopped on OS and just kind of kept the TV on for back ground noise. Then around the 40-45 minute mark things started getting a little better and I started watching again. I still thought the movie was going to be really predictable and it was for awhile. However, during the last 45 minutes the movie really picked up. It had an Old Boy type fight sequence and a Nolan-esque ending so, it really paid off, IMO.

Maybe I'll try and catch the rest of it next time I see it on TV.

I think the reasoning (and I could be entirely wrong) for "Mark White" being displayed again after the credits is to show you that Mark is just another name, an addition to the list of casualties of war who were not directly involved. Just as Mark's story was changed and molded to serve a purpose (Dan lied and said he was saved to calm Paul) then Paul's story would receive the same treatment. Lost or not, once he's gone, no one will care. Dan will have lost another poor soul, Davenport will have lost another employee (or group, as it were), and Paul's family will be just another group of mourners, with nothing to show for it.

I saw The Fighter yesterday. I'm not a big fan of boxing or Wahlberg, but that was a good movie. I enjoyed it.

Yes that's possible. What I'm thinking is,it shows the box is open with the name Mark White. When Dan says they found Mark White,how does he know? If they opend the box there and he was at the other end they wouldn't have seen him. All they'd have is feet or sand and the name Mark White which Paul wrote on the top earlier. Plus the incident with White happend weeks ago so I would suspect such instant identification would be difficult. So to me it was a sign that maybe they actually got to Paul,they opened it up,saw 'Mark White' on the lid and assumed it was Mark in there but it was Paul.

On the other side of things Mark White is an anagram for 'with maker',may have been entirely made up and saying they were almost there was just further lies. In which case your idea would apply.

Well when I first watched the movie I had assumed that maybe Dan was also in contact with somebody else named Mark White and he was buried at the same time as Paul or something. And then Dan was sorry that he found Mark and not Paul. For some reason that also kind of doesn't make sense, but I don't recall hearing any digging outside of the phone earpiece itself so I'd slightly find it hard to believe that they were right at Paul's feet. Didn't he turn around in there twice anyway, so his head would be back near Mark's name?

Haha I never would have thought of something like that (though I did try and think of an anagram for Conroy if it would have ended up mattering for the movie in some way, but to no avail). I guess it truly is open for more discussion than I first thought lol.

I watched Reign Over Me for the first time. Although it seems like a good movie, I can't get past Sandler in this serious role. Every time there would be a dramatic moment when his character would raise his voice, I would flash back to Happy Gilmore.

Cheadle was superb, as usual.

Die Hard: With A Vengeance

All 3 of these that I've seen have been fantastic action flicks, as I expected. Loved Sam Jackson's character in this one. Looking forward to seeing Live Free or Die Hard in the next week or so, but I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that it's going to suck. Or at least disappoint me.

If you look up "meh" in the dictionary, you'll find this movie. Decent plot, decent action, some pretty bad acting out of everyone not named Idris Elba, it's watchable but it won't blow you away. The robbery scenes are pretty badass though.

Die Hard: With A Vengeance

All 3 of these that I've seen have been fantastic action flicks, as I expected. Loved Sam Jackson's character in this one. Looking forward to seeing Live Free or Die Hard in the next week or so, but I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that it's going to suck. Or at least disappoint me.

It's a modern-day action movie with a slight Die Hard touch to it. If you want to retain it, I beg that you watch the Unrated version. Nothing says Die Hard like a few F-bombs being thrown around. It will not be anything like the other ones though. It's still a very good action movie, even if it isn't the best "Die Hard" movie.

I think you'll enjoy it if not anything else.

Oh not only are they worth watching, they're worth owning. The Die Hard Collection is so cheap on Blu-ray (which unfortunately does not have an Unrated version for the fourth movie).

And I don't know how much you trust the IMDb community, but LFoDH is rated second highest of the Die Hard movies. I would put it up there as well as far as movies go, but again it's that awesome feel of the first three Die Hard movies that just might be lost with a post-production camera filter, CGI, and a bald Bruce Willis. The character interaction between Willis and his new PiC is still so enjoyable though.

I see you can get all 4 of them for 36 bucks on Amazon. Might have to pull the trigger on that when I get some extra cash. The only one I own right now is the first one, but I definitely want to own the next 2. And the way you're making it sound, I'll definitely want to own the 4th as well.

I've been robbed of high def audio for 2 and 3 (watched one on TV, the other on DVD) and I know for damn sure I want to feel and hear the lossless version of the 2 plane explosions in Die Hard 2 and the helicopter crash in DH3.
