Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Just got back from seeing Harry Potter Deathly Hollows pt2. I've seen all of the movies now and this one even though the most action packed, sort of moved too fast. Maybe i should of watched Part 1 a day or so before watching this one because at the beginning of the movie i was sort of lost since it was a direct continuation.
Not sure if i should note this under spoilers since it has nothing to do with this specific movie but all of them in general:
Spoileri could of sworn in the earlier movies they told us one of Harry's parents was a mogual and the other one a wizard, but this one showed both his parents as wizards. Maybe it's just me and i forgot them mentioning this but it sort of threw me off
On the movie itself, it felt sort of short ended in some segments but was still able to give us a satisfying ending. Not the best out of the bunch, but definitely in the top 3 i think

Tekken
I don't know who is supposed to like this movie.
Steve Fox is old and retired,he takes Jin under his wing.
Nina and Anna are nothing but living sex dolls for Kazuya. Nina also younger than Steve.
Law is a jobber. Paul only mentioned in passing.
Raven makes no sense.
They cast and subsequently portrayed Migel so badly I had to think about who he actually was in the game.
There's a random girl named Kara to be Jin's love intrest.
Until he finds Christie and starts mackin' on her despite having Kara who is still watching on with ever so caring and concerned looks.
There's 2 or 3 fights based around weapons.
The Jacks look nothing like Jack.
Heianchi (probably spelled that wrong) comes off as a good guy.
No devil mode.
They did an alright job with Bryan.
So if you're a fan of the Tekken games you'll probably hate this.
If you're not I'm not sure there's anything to like regardless.
It felt like it would've been a direct to video rip off like the current ones with the Transmorphs and that stuff that company puts out when Rocky IV and Bloodsport were popular in the 80's,just with a bigger budget.Comment

Yeah I saw the unrated movie. Sex Drive is great. I was also skeptical when I rented it awhile ago, and thought it would be some American Pie knockoff type movie, but it was hilarious especially Seth Green's character. One of the more under-appreciated comedies out there.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

For what it was, i sort of enjoyed the movie. My expectations were SUPER SUPER LOW, so when i saw it, i actually ended up at the end say "this was ok."Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I just watched Broken Arrow (1996) It's pretty much how I remembered though I was taken aback at how restrained it was compared to later Woo films in the US. Travolta does ham it up as the villain of the piece but it comes across fairly well. Christian Slater was a bit weak but the overall story and themes of loyalty, friendship and betrayal carried the day.
It's pretty much an average flick but well handled by slick directing and Travolta's on-screen presence. I also noticed the Sergio Leone influenced score by Hans Zimmer which I had totally forgotten about as I hadn't seen this flick in a few years.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Just watched Buried. I enjoyed it. Didn't think I would enjoy something where they don't ever leave this wooden box. Didn't enjoy the ending though. I also thought it was ****ed up by what the company did to him.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Watched Rabbit Hole. Another frustrating movie to watch, though I did like it very much. Why don't married people talk to each other? Is it really that hard?!
Also watched Student Services (a French foreign film). Follows 19-year-old Laura as she enters prostitution to pay for her studies. Apparently it's a big problem in France where female students enter prostitution anonymously to pay off their expenses while attending university. Sad story when you see the downward spiral of this girl's life. Adaptation of a book which is based on the true story of these women."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Just saw Thor this weekend & I thought it was pretty good. I know who Thor is but I never really knew his origin so it was cool to learn about it & thats what made it cool for me."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Saw on netflix: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. It's a documentary about Joe an Australian who has been eating like an American for years and has gotten obese and suffers from disease related to his eating habits. He then made a change in his diet and he fasted for 60 days only drinking vegetable and fruit drinks and has stopped eating meat.
This is probably one the most inspirational movie I've seen. After seeing it, I made the decision to give up meat and only eat fish. Also bought a juicer and made my first drink and I feel amazing.
Great information about American eating habits and the benefits you get from drinking your vegetables and fruit. Seeing the changes he went through was amazing but was more amazing was the main person he helped on the show, Phil.
I leave it at that for now and do yourself a favor and watch it.Comment
