Jim Caviezel. Good actor, but like we talked about before, production value on faith-based movies is lacking. Little Boy (coming out soon) will hopefully change this.

Neighbors - I thought it was the best Seth Rogen movie I've seen in quite some time.

Gone Girl - I thought it was awesome. Definitely the best movie that I've seen in awhile. The cast was great. Ben, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry & Carrie Coon were all solid, but I thought Rosamund Pike was amazing. There were some hole's in the plot, but nothing that I couldn't really look past.

I'll definitely watch it again once it comes to HBO.

My brother, my mother, and myself all love scary movies, so we got Annabelle for my mom's birthday (we all loved The Conjuring so we wanted to watch the prequel despite the less than stellar reviews).

Not sure if I was just in the mood to be scared or something, but Annabelle freaked me out way more than I was expecting. There was one scene that made my mom literally scream and dive off of the couch lol. I've never seen her jump like that before.

Anyways, it was an alright movie. Definitely preferred The Conjuring, but we enjoyed it a solid amount.

I've been recommended to watch The Babadook for real amazing horror. It's more of a psychological horror more than cheap jump scare type movies.

I'm gonna probably watch that right now.

Saw "Foxcatcher". I thought it was okay, but I'm not understanding the hullaballo about Carrell's portrayal as du Pont. Again, I thought it was a decent enough movie, but I wasn't wow'd by it. I do like Carrell as an actor, though, and I'm interested to see where he goes next.

The Town That dreaded Sundown. The new one. It was ok. Before that my friend and I watched VHS 3. It was bad. There was maybe one or two decent stories in it. We turned it into a drinking game. Drink every time the screen distorts, blood and deaths.

I saw it and thought it was aight. Can't wrap my head around some things still, and am not compelled enough to re-watch. The director definitely evoked the right emotions from me while watching it, though they weren't as broadened as I would have hoped. Film was fine I guess.

Good Will Hunting: finally! What a great story and movie. We all know (or are) a Will Hunting in our life, someone whose brilliant but can't overcome themselves or their demons. That was one of my older brothers, and sadly he ultimately succumbed to his struggles. Being so able to relate to the movie really made it where I couldn't miss a line. Maybe I was hoping to find a reason why things happened the way they did in my life, a line to explain things because I still struggle sometimes. I was expecting the movie to end tragically, but it was a perfect ending riding off into the sunset. Now that I think about it, the parallels are chillingly similar. My bro escaped to California to seek help, but it's where he ultimately passed away. Was an original just like Will. This one's gonna stick with me for a while.

Profound review of a great film, slick.

I think that is why Perks of Being a Wallflower hits strongly for me, due to parallel struggles and issues in my family, and the film finishes on a strong note.

The local theater here showed the movie the weekend following the news about Robin Williams. It definitely changes the perception of the movie with the focus on his character and knowing his real life struggle he seemed a perfect foil to Will.

Project Almanac was meh. Had some pretty boring parts but the time traveling was cool.
