          Who, me?

EDIT: Oh, I know what you're talking about. I just thought the video in its entirety is so funny and true.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Been on a bit of a movie kick lately...catching up on some "old" ones that I failed to see earlier...

First of all, I thought The Martian was pretty phenomenal. Normally, I get super nitpicky about science plot holes. But, aside from (1) purposefully depressurizing your space suit to use as a "thruster" in the near zero pressure/absolute zero environs of Mars orbit (2) using duct tape as totally air tight, all-weather/temperature/pressure vacuum sealant and (3) rocketing into space with an open-to-air cockpit, the science didn't bother me much. The acting and pacing was really good. Ditto the cinematography. Matt Damon was outstanding and I like that they played him as such an optimistic rascal instead of the emo alternative. Seeing Kristen Wiig playing a straight/serious role is very odd. "I don't like it at all, man" as Hannibal Buress might say. The soundtrack was dynamite--the best use of the David Bowie song "Starman" that I can remember in a movie. A tasteful amount of ABBA as well.

I'd also recommend Bone Tomahawk. Kurt Russell doing his western sheriff bit, add in a child-like old "backup" sheriff's deputy played by Richard Jenkins, and some scary *** cannibals. And a lot of gore. I believe they had a $2 million budget for this.

Another one was The Family with De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. This one didn't hold my interest aside from ogling Dianna Agron at times who played an interesting character. Maybe worth the price of admission to see Robert De Niro sit down to watch a screening of Goodfellas, lol. Very meta, but maybe not enough reason to watch an entire movie.

A couple of others that I found watchable-to-good were 10 Cloverfield Lane and Miss Sloane. Both are "twist at the end" kind of movies. J.J. Abrams directed 10 Cloverfield Lane and I tend to like his movies; John Goodman is always watchable. Jessica Chastain, the lead in Miss Sloane, is another one that never really has a bad part. I'm sort of surprised there aren't more movies about "lobbyists"--what Miss Sloane is about--but probably it's because most people hate lobbyists.

Finally, not really a single movie per se, but for anyone who hasn't seen Ken Burns' documentary The Vietnam War, that's very worth seeing. As is everything else ever made by Ken Burns. Especially the ones about baseball, WWII, prohibition, the Roosevelt family, and the Civil War.

I watched this (finally) last night and thought it was great. The father reminded me of a guy in my networking group so much from the mannerisms to the way he talked.

The cast was great, the concept was terrifying, and the execution was superb. It's one of the most tense movies I've seen in awhile and that's even before the "reveal."

Get Out was awesome. So suspenseful and dramatic yet not horribly graphic like some movies tend to be (there were brutal scenes but wasn't a majority of the movie). Great movie to mess with your mind.

For those of you who have seen Bladerunner 2049, do you feel it was necessary to have seen the original to enjoy/understand the movie? Thinking of watching it but havent seen the original. Thanks in advance!

Definitely see the original first. The Directors cut is the best version BTW. And Blade Runner 2049 was outstanding as well.

Watched a romcom with the wife titled It’s Complicated starring Alec Baldwin and Merryl Streep. Funny and enjoyable.

Saw Coco in the theatre with the family. That movie surprised me. Really got me good.

Not a movie, but had to share. I saw Hamilton on broadway last week. Wife and I were given tickets for Christmas. The hype is legit. Music was amazing. A truly entertaining history lesson. Not the original cast but just as great. Haven’t stopped listening to the soundtrack since. LOL
