She's an annoying character who doesn't listen and always feels the need to be involved. I forget which episode it was, but Jack basically said something like, "There's no point in telling you to stay behind because you'll just leave 5 minutes later anyway." She's like an irritating bug that just won't stop buzzing near your ear.

Her backstory does nothing for me. I don't care about her character in the least bit. Juliette and Sawyer getting together was a lot better match for me. When they were on the submarine getting ready to leave the island, I was pissed off when I saw ol' Chicklet teeth coming down the ladder. All I could think was, "here we go again."

There's some characters you hate because the actor does a great job of making you feel that emotion towards them. I dont think that applies with Kate because she isn't supposed to be viewed in that manner.She just somehow manages to make a lot of people dislike her.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up. She's just annoying on the island, always trying to tag along and be a part of the group. It just seems forced. Also her off island story has gotten kinda stale for me. It was kinda interesting in season 1 and 2 but now I just wish ole smokey would take care of her.

I see Kate as the character that was created as a love interest for the alpha males in the group.

Obviously, she had to have a back story but I never felt the producers really cared about her because the story has no effect on anyone but herself. Her back story might be a decent Lifetime movie, but that's about it.

And I don't feel bad about her backstory at all, and I think they are trying to make me. I understand WHY she killed her stepfather - but it was still murder. And everything else she is just dumb. They try to make the US Marshal seem like a bad guy but he is just doing her job.

And she is just dumb on the Island. She never listens to anybody and ends up just screwing things up. And then off the Island when they got back she was a bitch, too. The "love triangle" I suppose was somewhat interesting in the early seasons, but now I don't care at all.

You know, as bad as Shannon was in the first half of Season One, she was becoming a decent person before she was killed.

I think if Shannon had lived, she would've become the best female lead on the show.

I think I'm one of the only people who think she isn't that hot. I've also heard she is a bitch to work with. I guess through the first few seasons she bitched all the time about getting sand all over her.

Well, *******, maybe you shouldn't have taken a role that gets mostly shot on the beach.

I'm not too sure. She was pretty horrific in the movie Taken. I don't think I could stand her as a lead.
