The paid version of Nova launcher has notification counting as an option on whichever apps you specify.

I believe there's an gmail label of unread emails, not entirely sure though.

Thanks I will look into Nova. Pretty dumb that it wouldn't be standard - that's a basic pre-requisite now.

Just discovered AirDroid as couple of weeks ago, and its pretty awesome. Wireless file management between Android and computer.

Just learned how to screen shot withvthe s pen, very cool and works like a charm. I like that I can screen shot just parts if the screen. And the palm thing is pretty cool as well

Yeah I really like AirDroid for quick dropping files, ringtones, etc.

The paid version of Nova launcher has notification counting as an option on whichever apps you specify.

This disables the stock email badge for email counting though. Then, to fix that, people suggest you install MissedIt! It's never ending.

It's funny how you have to install all this crap and find workarounds for every little thing. They still haven't added badges OS wide....

The minimalistic text app can do that. Hell, the customization options are endless with that app when you learn how to use it. Doesn't it show how many new emails in the notification area?

It shows an email preview but not the full count of unread emails. So if I have hotmail, two work email accounts and Gmail, they all have different apps that don't show me how many are unread.

Nova blocks the count of the stock email app but shows a Gmail count with the Tesla plugin.

Unfortunately I get a mass amount of emails in a day, professional and personal. I need to know how many are from each without having to actively dig for them.

Which Android phone and version are you using?

Yeah I'm not exactly sure which features would require an entire program. Android is a pretty well rounded OS. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Also depends on which Android version you're using

Makes sense, I thought to myself when I read your initial post, why would would he need an unread email label with android. S3 should be updated in Jelly Bean pretty soon. Notifications are a way better with jelly bean, it's so good that attached pics can even show up in the notification bar when you get a picture email or text.
