Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
yep, plus rooting/modding motorolas is different than any other android phone I've heard. I come from an HTC background though, so I could be wrong on that. The easiest method isn't always the best though. It's good to familiarize yourself with ADB and shell commands, and once you start using them you'll feel like a boss. a nerdy boss, but a boss haha.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Bedside Night Clock (imagine that) is like $2 and allows you to have two separate whitelists for sms and calls. My main problem with Bedside is that it doesn't have a built in alarm feature. You have to use the stock alarm or another 3rd party app.
I use Kaloer Clock. It's free and has a feature that allows you to whitelist contacts which allows only their calls to come through (not sure if it works for texts). It has some good customizable options including 4 or 5 different clock skins and the feature to set a music playlist for the alarm. It's also got a $2 upgrade that adds some more customizable features.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

With my original Samsung Vibrant, I never backed up and didnt do a wipe prior to switching ROMs.
After that, I gave up and wanted a new phone. I still have the Vibrant, but something about losing all your app data makes you want to break the device.
On the Sensation, I picked a good one. Great support on xda, couldn't be happier.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I am officially a Android guy now....Just upgraded my Iphone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy S II for the low price of 9.99(with a 2 year agreement). Love the phone, but just getting used to the new UI and the way that Android works. Without searching this entire thread, would someone please do me a favor and give me a top 5 of apps that I must get for my phone.Comment

Beautiful Widgets, for homescreen customization.
Handcent, much better sms app then stock.
SwiftKey X, best keyboard that suited me. I don't like the swype keyboards.
Jorte, I tried a lot of calendar/organizer/scheduler apps and settled here.
Office Suite, will handle any word, excel, powerpoint, pdf you need.
Honorable Mentions
Seesmic (twitter/facebook/salesforce app)
Astro (file folder explorer)
Dropbox
