I'll take this one....

Apple has sent out media invites for a preview of iPhone/Touch/Pad OS 4.0 on thursday. Expectations are multi-tasking (tho, they've been expecting that since OS 1.0). The preview is thursday, but the OS is doubtful to come out before June (new iPhone)

Well, to clarify, people complaining about the lack of it won't be an issue.

Developer event to go over the new OS happens on Thurs.

Still the limited RAM in the iPad will probably hold this baby back a bit. We will have to see when it's jailbroken just how efficient the iPad programs are. Most iPhone programs only take about 10MB's of RAM, so I'm hoping it is similar?

How is it? I'm on the fence about it.. Especially since I just traded my 15 inch MBP for a 13 inch which is waaaay lighter.

So far it's fantastic. My wife needed a product to surf the web, check her email, read ebooks, look at photos, listen to music, and this thing fit the bill perfectly. I don't give a crap that it can't do flash, she doesn't sit around all day and play farmville anyway. The fact that we can watch ABC shows on it for free, stream our Netflix movies on it for free, and have access to over 100,000 (though most are worthless) apps makes it even better.

I was surprised at the lack of RAM in the thing, but look, it's not a netbook, it doesn't need that much RAM to function.

Surfing the web on it is an absolute joy. I too was the same way about it when I first heard about it. I thought it was a giant oversized Itouch, which essentially it is, but what is wrong with that? Once you actually have the thing in your hands and your using it all my fears went bye-bye.

We already have a mac at home so syncing photos via Iphoto was a breeze. Also the fact that the OS is being updated soon with even more functionality is just gravy.

I know this has been known, but...
Two different models, one with wifi only and one with 3g and wifi = a big thumbs down.

There have been reports of it happening to 2 people out of over 300,000 that have been sold. So I guess it does happen.

Got mine on Saturday via pre-order->UPS... Love it! very sleek and the screen resolution is amazing! Surfing on it and streaming media is seamless and very fast. Battery life is also amazing.

I was streaming Netflix at work off of my co-workers Wifi push on his phone. no buffering (one the movie loaded) Also Google street view is
