We did this too...so cheap when you can have this done during construction (I think all the wires were ran for under $250 or $300. We had 5.1 ran in our family room as well (we installed in-wall/ceiling speakers for the fronts and rears, except for the center and co-ax ran for the sub) and had pairs of speaker lines ran to several other rooms of our house as well (including our back yard) with volume control boxes as well. It's cool that I can control everything from my family room. I also have a dual source/dual zone receiver, so when we have people over we can have football on in the family room and play music throughout the rest of the areas.

For the price of this compared to all of the other upgrades, I thought this was the best bargain...even though for them it was just running some extra wire, in reality it saved me hours and hours of work and trips to the attic.

Damn and I thought I was a neat freak...............His setup is like presidential level clean. That has to be the cleaniest setup I ever seen in a live in house.

About the only thing I don't look about the picture is how wide open those blinds are LOL. Call me paranoid but I grew up in Chicago and even though I live in Vermont now with the nearest neighbor 2 acres away, I am still paranoid about people looking through my windows.

I do love that tv stand though, about how much weight can it support ?

More pictures guys, I need some ideas......

I will be the first to admit, I'm beyond neat. I drive my wife nuts with it as well. You know what's funny? I usually end my night by picking up the dog toys and putting them into the bin on the left side of the room. Now my dog has started to put his toys back in the bin when he's done playing with them. It's not all the time that he does that, but sometimes.

I have windows on each side of the TV and 2 on the left side of that room. 2 more off to the right of the TV where the kitchen is (it's a pretty open floor plan). If someone is walking through my backyard they can see us in the house if we're standing up...sitting down, they can't see anything. It's a smaller suburban neighborhood with 12 single family homes (plotted to have over 50) and approximately 40-50 townhouses (many more to be built) that are in a different section. So, unless someone is spying on us or entering the park well behind our house, they won't be in the backyard and won't see us.

Regarding the TV stand, here's a link:

I don't see any listing as to what it can support. It's not the highest end TV stand one can buy, but my wife and I liked the look of it. We thought it went well with the TV and the rest of the room. Trying to match the wood/finish of our end tables was too difficult so going with straight black worked well.

            32inch VIZIO
720p but it looks so much better than my old one. which was an insignia.

              $400 for a 32 inch 720p Vizio ???? What the hell ? Kind of high there........Unless it is 120HZ....

60hz models normal price at most places for that size Vizio is $338.

Did you get that at Walmart? I bought it to, but returned it as well. It just "felt" smaller than 26 inches and I wasn't impressed with the picture.

No, it's 120HZ. and I didn't buy it either. It was in my dad's waiting room at his office and I asked him If I could trade because it looked better, so I did.

I just looked up a price online lol

LOL! My wife thinks I'm nuts too, but I also close the blinds upstairs as I do not need people staring into my house to see what I have. I think we have discussed this in another thread not too long ago about the paranoia. This day and age with people out of work and what not, all it takes is for one dude to see something nice.

I bought that stand today and did some rearranging in the room. I tried my best to fix most of the wires behind the AV rack, but such a pain. I'll update the pics sometime tomorrow.

                          Yep

I actually liked it but playing basketball on it... man the blur was hurting my eyes bad. It was the perfect size computer monitor though, fit on my stand like an exact fit, ..... just couldnt take how nba 2k played on it

See that little white thing in the corner next to the left front speaker? That's why I'm not worried about people seeing what I have...motion detector for the security system (three of them in the house...impossible to go anywhere without setting one off). When we're out, it's on and anybody trying to get in is going to have a rude awakening.

I do leave the upstairs blinds closed in the master bedroom though. Only makes sense since we're changing and walking to/from the master bathroom past both windows.

Ahhhh, nice. My wife has been talking about ADT of late, since their prices are not too bad. You never know, all we see on the news lately is people breaking into homes.

You are better off trying to find a local security company with central station monitoring then a national brand. You are just a number to them.
