That's why I decided to go with Panasonic since they are known to have virtually almost no lag(15ms), and are great for gaming. I ordered the Panasonic 50gt25 a few days ago. I waiting for it to arrive.
I havn't played any games yet on it. I'm in the "I don't want to F it Up" mode right now. After today I'll have roughly 75 hours of break in time. Sometime this weekend I'll put it through its paces. That's one thing good with Best Buy with the 30 Day return policy in case I'm not happy.

Main thing with this purchase was the 999.99 price that included the 3D starter kit as it was Best Buys deal of the week with Samsung TV's.
Just couldn't pass it up. I do know the picture as far as TV goes is very very nice

From everything I've ready there should be absolutely no input lag but we'll see.

So my roommate just picked up a Sony Bravia LED 3D tv. (KDL55HX800) We have cable so it only offers 720p so what is the best way to optimize the picture for sports? I'm not that great with adjusting the picture settings so any insight would be appreciated.

I have an 09 model panasonic and I have a some IR. I've played NCAA football from day one and the first month I had it on my normal setting and noticed IR of the EA logo and scrolling bar. That thing is literally there the entire time the game i on. I've turned down my contrast and brightness since August though. I've probably put 100 hours into the game though.

I get IR too, I just don't worry about it. It goes away never stay longer then a few minutes.

Those of you gaming on a Panasonic 3-D.... Do you see a lot of "input lag"? Right now I'm playing on a Sony 60 inch DLP and the I don't see any lag. When I'm playing on my new TV am I going to notice a delay?

I bought the T.V. for gaming/3-D gaming and I want to make sure that I'm not trading one problem for a different problem.

LOL! You created another post, separate from this.

With plasma you will notice the most minimal input lag vs. LCD, LED, or DLP. DLP's have input lag and I noticed a lot on mine when I played Rock Band or Guitar Hero. You will be good with the Panny, don't worry.

LOL. I didn't see this response. I was told that I would have a big problem in my games with input lag. The debbie downer told me that it was going to be like playing under water.

Nope, I bought a Panasonic G20 1.5 months ago that I have played games almost on a daily basis. I have had no issues, except for minor image retention which has gone away after a few minutes.

I wouldn't buy a panny again after my black levels have increased on my G10. There were articles on cnet and avsforums about this. So upsetting bc I paid 1400 for mine and it looks all greyed out instead of black

That problem was prevalent in 2009 models which he has. It was supposedly corrected or reduced(slower rise) in 2010 models and it sounds like it has been.

Like Nemesis said, it was really bad with the '09 sets. It has been greatly reduced for the '10 models. Panny sets are programmed this way for the blacks to rise over time. Everything that I've read, with the '10 models, the blacks should look just as good if not better than the Sammy plasma counterparts. The Panny VT and G were tested at around 1500 hours over the summer and they were still holding up very well with the rise in blacks. Panny technicians have said that the blacks should only rise about 3 times over the life of these sets. There are some guys on AVS that have hit 2,000+ hours already and have said they still look good. At the rate we have our set on, I could hit 1,500+ in a few months so I'll report back if I see anything.

So on the Plasmas worst day it still is going to look equal to my DLP? I could live with that.

Why on earth would you program the blacks to rise over time?

I've had mine for almost 2 yrs now and it got worst after the first year. I can't stand watching really dark movies now bc it really shows that its grey.

For me, the way panasonic handled it was in very poor taste. they pretty much said it was normal and ignored it. I'll never buy a tv from them against even with excellent reviews. I'll get a sony or samsung for my next tv.
