Keirik, as long as you don't enable all the motion enhancing stuff you'll see minimal to no lag while watching sports on an LED. The other aspect for that is the motion engine within the TV. Sony has some real good motion engines in their LED TV's, as does Sharp.

Both company have 60 inch TV's within your price range.

So if you were to buy a 50 inch TV for mainly gaming what technology is most preferred around here?

      Thanks!

Any good articles out there or personal knowledge around here on projectors and screens? Not in a position to get one, but I've never really known what specs to look out for for either component and would like to learn.

In my experience geek squad is a joke. Hopefully they actually help you out though.

To answer the LED input lag issues, typically Sony is leading the field for input lag on LED's. After Sony will be LG and then Samsung and Sharp on the high side. Here is the TV I'd recommend if you're using it for Sports/Gaming mostly:

There are numerous things to look for when buying a projector. First, you have to figure out the level of quality you want- 1080p vs 720p. Obviously, 1080p is usually the popular choice, which starts out at around $1,299.99 for a good projector. Second you need to figure out how far away your project is going to be mounted so you can calculate your throw ratio. You're throw ratio will determine your screen size and which projector you'll need to achieve that screen size. Third, you need to pick a screen. Screens are for the most part graded by grain. The screen grain will determine how good 3d images look and how deep your colors are going to look. Also, with the right grain, you can have a projector in a bright room and be just fine.

There are a ton of specs with projectors, such as lumens and contrast ratio, but all of those factors will be dependent on the quality of projector you want and your throw ratio.

Then again mine is 240hz but I'm not sure that makes a difference but add long as its not 60hz you're okay

Based on what I've seen lately, the BenQ W1070 is getting a lot of pub for having the best budget friendly 1080P projector at $1000.

The BenQ HT2060’s good contrast, bright output, and impressive color accuracy make it our pick for the best budget home theater projector.

                              Need some help guys.

I am down to these TV's at my price point.

                              Samsung 60" Model No.-UN60F6300AFXZA $1,499.99

                              LG 60" Model No.-60LM7200 $1,499.99

                              Vizio 60" Model No. E601I-A3 $999.99

The Samsung and the Vizio are both 120HZ but the LG is 240HZ and is also 3D. I'm not that interested in the 3D technology but it would be an added bonus. I like these sets as all 3 are in my price range (the Vizio is 500 bucks cheaper) and all 3 have 4 HDMI inputs. I am also a huge console gamer and loves watching sports, so take that into consideration when recommending me a set.

                              Thanks for the help!

IMO, 240Hz isn't necessary, especially at a $500 premium. Here is an article on refresh rates.

Just going on previous track records....the Samsung probably has the best picture quality.

Now the question boils down to if you think that increased PQ is worth an extra $500 over the Vizio.

(If it were me and I had the space...If I can afford to spend $1500 then another $100 won't kill me....so consider the 70" version http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009SJNTIY?...-e1i-a3-series )
