Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Yeah I use game mode when playing games for sure. All the processing features are off except I have dynamic color & dynamic contrast on as it gives a better picture. I don't reallly feel any input lag, feels the same as off. If I do run into any issues I'll just turn off those dynamic features. Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Nah, I put it on hold. As you can tell, I haven't made much progress period on the man cave. I have the materials, flooring, wiring, and projector. Just not the time to get it done. I sold the other projector, because I didn't have time to get everything done. Impulse buy on this one, but hopefully I can get the flooring installed, drywall, etc in the next few weeks, and get this put up.
Won't be nearly perfect for a while, but it'll be serviceable.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Gotcha. I still have my HK satellites & sub if you're ever interested, but I would instead recommend that you go all out with sound to match your speakers... in which case that might take a while.
I've been waiting forever to get a new receiver and subwoofer. I might get a new receiver this Black Friday finally, but I still want to keep my old one. I just kind of want this one to be "the one" though, so I don't look toward upgrading again for years on end (been on my current one for four years now). That said, I'll probably be going upwards to $2000 for one.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
It is one or the other.
On my Samsung plasma renaming any HDMI input to PC makes it PC Mode.
If I have game mode activated then changing the hdmi name to PC disables game mode and PC mode is activated
Many get confused as to why changing the HDMI name to Game does not work well that is because game mode is activated inside the settings and not by name the input gameComment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I have an LG lcd tv and was wondering is it best to use the picture wizard for calibrating than picking one of the pre-set modes like standard? I know you can buy discs to calibrate or get a professional but I am not that hardcore about it. Thanks."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I've fiddled with it a bit. It does have more in depth settings. When starting the wizard it has to 2 options standard & preferred what is the best to go with? The color gamut is set at standard by default should I just leave it or put it on wide? The regular modes have it on wide. Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Had a lightning strike while I was on vacation blew out my sony 55 w900a and receiver and other stuff.
Claiming it on insurance. In the meantime I picked up the xbr55x850b. What a beautiful picture. Upconversion to 4k is really nice.
Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a tv..it's on sale for $1999.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Okay guys I'm seriously thinking of getting a tv. Newegg with preferred card or anywhere else with my mastercard. I'm going to be using it for gaming 90% of the time. It will also be used as my computer monitor as well.
I was looking to spend between 400 to 600 dollars however I know that I may have to go out of my price range. I was basically looking for bang for you buck deals. It doesn't need to be 3D and/or have all the apps on it. Just a straight up relatively good gaming tv. I prefer LCD and looking for probably 32 inches at the smallest.
Any suggestions or would it be better waiting until black Friday/cyber monday?PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os
