The 6 series has been on sale lately and should continue with the new stuff coming out.

$600 is going to be pushing it for a 65" unless you can get an open box deal.

Realistically speaking $600 for any 65 inch tv and you’re getting trash. At that point just get something smaller that’s way better quality.

Really not an option since I am viewing from 18' away. Isn't that much 4k content at this point anyway. Just need a larger panel in this room and wanted to know if the TV or any TV from this company would be a disappointment. Reviews I read say the sets are a decent value for the money. The features in the 5 and 6 series while nice aren't worth $300 plus more for me. I know a really good set in this size would be close to $1500 but I am not going for that.

Not that much 4K content? That's absurd. You're just trying to make excuses to justify not spending as much now.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

After years of lusting after one of the LG OLEDs, I just bought a C8 to upgrade from my Samsung plasma. I’m not looking forward to having to get back into settings and **** after having all my stuff set for 7 years, but I can’t wait to see how everything looks on it.

There isn't a lot of 4k content depending on what you watch. You also have to pay additional for it depending on what services you already have.

The 65" has been on sale for $700-750. It is definitely an upgrade worth the price. I just setup the 55" for someone and they were amazed at a 1080i source on the series 6. It is a top TV at bargain basement price.

For 18' away, you may want to save up and wait. I'm around 15-17' away and my 75" TV isn't big enough. Really need 85 or 90. I just didn't want to pay the 85" prices as they are crazy.

This is why I've been exploring the projector option because in the bonus room I'm working on there's a perfect wall for it and it's going to be about 18' ish. There's room to get a 120" screen up. I can't afford a really really nice 4K projector right now, but I've been looking at the BenQ HT2050A and the cheaper OPTOMA HD143X.

We would really only use it for watching movies and sports mostly so I think a projector would be cool for the kids too..

My wife gave the okay on one and then when I discussed the price she said, "I was thinking like $100 because I saw one online for $70."

Poor thing just doesn't get it.. lol.

I watch Netflix and my TV option is now Hulu with Live TV and there is no 4k on Hulu nor will there be in the foreseeable future. Not much on Netflix either from what I could garner on the website. The few I saw I wouldn't watch anyway.

Aside from a 4k video game console that supports the latest video game tech what medium are you using to watch television shows and movies that supports 4k? Cause my options don't.

There should be plenty on Netflix, but I don't use it so I can't tell you how to find it. Amazon you have to search because they are listed separately, so there are duplicates, one for 4k and one for HD.

Not only that but most of the new stuff is in Dolby Vision as well. Even prime has a ton of shows in 4k.

If this is just a bedroom TV how much will you actually be watching it? I mean yeah, a 65" 4K with true HDR is gonna cost you. But do you really need true HDR in there? Will you mainly be watching it for just TV late at night, or do you want to get into movies and games in high quality?

Normally I'd say make sure you get a true HDR TV but depending on what you are using it for you may not even wanna bother paying the extra money for a nicer set.
