Anyone see the new 2019 Samsung TVs our right now. The new RU8000 is being promoted as the first TV with free-sync. Anyone know more specs on these new sets?
I've been convinced to go for the 6 series TCL. $800 now seems like a good deal not likely to go down much if at all on a Black Friday sale. Looking at a 65". My son just bought the 75" after his 4 year old Sony died. Motherboard problem or something.
$800 is as far as I can stretch due to budget constraints and from what I read it is a decent TV. Any opinions on the 6 series TCl?

I think the lowest it has been is $750, it is a very good TV and can't be beat for the price. Roku makes it even better with the apps you can use to stream.

Yeah...I love my 6-series. You get probably the best HDR you can at that price point (from what I read). It's not as amazing as the more expensive ones everyone recommends, but I'm personally cheap lol. I'd love to get a higher end one per Scott's recommendations, but just can't justify it.
Is it worth spending that much on the soundbar vs. paying more for the tv? I could believe it was, but more just a general question on value.
I'm in the camp that a sound bar is a nice addition, but not the necessity to complement your wonderful picture like so many say.
I treated myself to an LG C8 OLED. Best Buy bundled an SK10Y sound bar with it for a reasonable price. I love the sound on the TV. It has pop, enough to satisfy my needs. The sound bar is nice, but preferable for big budget movies.
Ask yourself, how loud do you normally play things? If you don't crank it up for movie night, I'd lean toward no.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!
