Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

A few questions i have. So i know there is a LG B9, LG CX and a LC GX. like how different are the 3 from each other? I have heard some talk about LG b9 compared to LG CX and from my understanding the tv stand is really the only difference. So like how much of a difference is there between the CX and GX? I heard GX like just came out? Sounds like maybe B9 is a better option then CX had its like 400 or so cheaper and still has HDMI 2.1. Right now the 65 inch B9 is about the same has the 55 inch CX. B9 1900 compared to CX and its 1800. So if you go with the B9 65 inch you would be paying 100 more for the 10 inch bigger size. Would it be better to get the extra inches and get the B9 or get the smaller newer tv in CX? Is the big difference in price between the b9 and the GX worth it? Or the price difference from CX to GX? Right now the 55 inch tvs prices are B9-$1300, CX-$1800, GX-$2500. So B9 to CX is $500 difference. B9 to GX is $1200 difference and CX TO GX is $700.

CX has a much better processor than the B9. All have HDMI 2.1. I would personally get the GX, I love the design plus the ATSC 3.0 is a bonus.

What is the 3.0 thing? What do you mean by much better processor?

The ATSC 3.0 is the Next Gen Tuner that will allow you to receive 4K broadcasts over the air. The processor is the brain of the TV. Having a better processor results in better upscaling, so if you're watching 1080P content, you'll see a much better image.

This a projector question, hope someone knows.

Anyone know about projectors and this yellow tint on the screen? This is what it looks like with something hooked up. You can see the discoloring. Google search says it’s a bad Blue LCD panel breakdown. If this is true, is this fixable? Can I buy a replacement LCD panel?

Hmm that’s weird. Could be a bulb going out.

So he said it could be an HDMI issue, try unplugging and replugging and see if that fixes it.

Tried that, even with multiple cords, still appeared.

Hmm that's strange, does it do it on all content or just the PS4?

I only have 1 HDMI slot, but everything I plug into that port distorts the video color. Maybe I'll check the other ports with something and see what happens.
