Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
Yeah, so I've watched Netflix HDR on my friend's 950, and now PS4 Pro on this, and I can tell you - you really don't have HDR with that older Samsung set. The 65" X900H is on sale for $999 right now at Costco/Best Buy, that might be the best deal going, HDMI 2.1, everything you need. I just couldn't fit that big of a screen in where it was going (I still have the Samsung for just living room/normal TV).#1 Laker fan

They are also "guaranteed" through Black Friday. If BB has the price lower they will match it. There is a 99% chance it's the same sale, but nice to know.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
The thing is that they are not that much cheaper than the LG X series. Imo, I would just spend a few hundred more on the LG *X for more features like eARC, hdmi 2.1, VRR, etc. Still have my fingers crossed LG will dropped the prices their 77in CX.Last edited by Americas Team; 10-13-2020, 06:07 PM.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
The Sony A8H 65' is $1799 right now, while the LG is $2599. That's a $800.00 difference. The Sony does offer eARC but yes doesn't offer VRR or HDMI 2.1which IMO shouldn't be a deal breaker for the price it's being offered for right now

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
So I noticed Best Buy is extending their return policy to January 16th. Does that mean the price match guarantee extends til January 16th also? If so, I might as well cop the 77" CX today!Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

This may be the time I finally pull the trigger on the LG OLED 77'. It looks like the GX is $4,300.

I pulled the trigger on the 77" LG CX, the Black Friday guarantee got me. Can't believe I spent almost 4K on a TV plus another $200 for wall mount. Smh, going to be driving Uber to pay for it.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I'll toss a possible purchase out here for thoughts...currently have a 75" Sony 940E (love it) as my primary in a 7.2.2 system with a Demon 3600H, and an old 65" Panasonic VT30 plasma with some burn-in connected to a sound bar. Looking to ditch the plasma and buy another Sony LED, as burn-in terrifies me as I've been "burned" before.
New TV would be in the home theater and looking at an 85" Z9G/Z8H/950H. Thoughts? Pros/Cons? Will not be upgrading the receiver for at least a couple years. Run one cable from the Denon to the TV, everything feeds directly to the receiver, do not use ARC at this point.
