Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

going to start looking for a new TV soon, trying to take advantage of black friday deals. I want an OLED but they still seem expensive, how are the QLEDs? I think the PS5 needs a new TV to play on lol.

I have the Samsung KS8000 right now, which would be a good upgrade for gaming primarily? My TV is about 5 years old now but still in great condition.

I see Vizo 55 inch OLED TV is at like 900 at Best Buy. Its the first time I have seen a OLED TV at 55 inches below like 1100. How good are they? I know this year was the first time Vizo did OLED.

The main thing is with Vizo getting into OLED for like the first time and for like around 1000 I am wondering if that will help drive the price down for LG and Sony OLED TV's. I would like to get a OLED 55 inch TV for like 1000 but most the time they are still 1200+. I know what you get what you pay for with anything but just wondering if the Vizo OLED is considered pretty good or not even if its not at the level of like LG, Sony etc. I have the Samsung ks8000 for about 4 years now got it around Black Friday 2016. I normally don't get tv's that often I am 31 had 3 tv's in my life but man do OLED TVs look amazing. I have also noticed this year that same times when watching tv or playing games that like the screen does this odd thing where like the picture roles. Its hard to explain but like at the top of the screen the picture roles all the way down to the bottom. It doesn't happen ever like minute or anything but is kind of annoying and it does make me wonder if the tv is trying to like trying to go out or something.

so im kind of looking at the Samsung q800t 8K QLED tv. Not too many options at the moment that have 2.1 HDMI to take full advantage of the next gen consoles. Anyone have this tv?

Do not buy a samsung 8k qled. If you want a qled or a samsung tv the best one to get is the 4k q90t or if you want to spend less the q80t

each has 1 hdmi input for 4k 120hz so you are good

I think I saw the 55 inch q90t for like 1300 which is a great deal

Watching the NFL, does FOX broadcast NFL games in 4K? The close up cam after the play is over looks 4K but the pre play broadcast camera doesn't look 4K, replays look bad too. Overall NFL games on TV broadcast dont look 4K for the most part. Not nearly as sharp as a 4K streaming video.

The thing about a 77in TV, you really get to see how good 4K is but if something isn't 4K you can really tell also.

Watching the Sunday Night game on NBC looks much better, now this is 4K!

NBC has beautiful broadcasts. I absolutely love everything about Sunday Night Football, especially its picture. FOX has hideous broadcasts. This isn't limited to just their NFL broadcasts, but also their FOX Saturday baseball broadcasts as well.

I don't know what broadcasts in 4K really, but you can find out by pressing the info button on your TV remote.

The World Series was definitely 4K, but IDK if regular season NFL games are in 4k on FOX.

Maybe it depends on your tv provider but has far has I know tv stations are still in just 1080p. I have never seen a nba/nfl/mlb/nhl game in 4k before.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if games were in 4K they would be advertising it. I'm not sure why NBC NFL games look so much better than Fox.

They look a little better to me but not that much better.

My parents have a 4K sports channel and when Games are on there they look incredible. It’s mostly soccer games but it looks great.
